UWRF Dining manages the meal plan program and is committed to providing a quality experience for students. We offer a variety of safe, high-quality and economical meal plan options through our contracted food service provider, Chartwells - A Compass Group.  The menu and dining facilities are continually updated and designed to provide students with a variety of selections in a safe environment not only in the Riverside Commons eatery, but in many other transfer meal locations within the University Center.

A meal plan is a grouping of meals, which is purchased in advance for an academic semester, and has a discount off the walk-in price. The meal plan is required for all students living in the residence halls (except South Fork Suites). Off campus students may also participate in the meal plan program for quality, convenience, and cost savings to feed hungry minds.

Research by Barrett et al. shows academic success begins in the dining hall -- students that use the meal plan more frequently have higher GPA, and persist to graduation more than those that eat infrequently in the dining hall.  Another study by Jarratt et al. shows high correlation of students that eat frequently with other students together in the dining hall have higher grade and higher graduation rates.

Students use the meals on their meal plan by waving their Falcon ID card near a prox-card reader when processing a transfer meal, or at the entrance to the Riverside Commons food court area.
