There are two allergen-friendly stations in Riverside Commons; the G8 station and the Avoiding Gluten station.  The food at the G8 station is free of the top 8 major allergens and gluten. For lunch and dinner this station features a hot protein, vegetable, starch and rice. To prevent the cross contact of allergens, the food is prepared and served using separate purple utensils and a Chartwells associate serves guests using a clean plate at peak meal times.  The Avoiding Gluten station provides items such as bread, hot dog buns, tortillas, cereals, and waffles made without gluten-containing ingredients.  The Chartwells staff take serving students with food allergies very seriously.  All Chartwells staff receive regular training on the best processes for safely handling food allergens.

The Chartwells registered dietitian is also available for students to contact and schedule an appointment regarding eating healthy on campus with special diets, food allergies or intolerances.  Please contact us if you would like more information at dining@uwrf.edu
