Mastering the Graduate School Personal Statement
Monday, September 23, 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Kinnickinnic River Theater, University Center

Many higher education institutions require applicants to submit an application essay, personal statement, or statement of purpose as part of the graduate and professional school application process. During this workshop, you will learn what steps to take to create an outline for your essay, including how to develop a thesis statement. If you have started your essay, bring it with you; otherwise, bring material to take extensive notes. The goals is for participants to walk out of this session with a thorough outline of their personal statement.

Demystifying the Graduate School Application Process
Tuesday, September 24, 2:30 - 4:00 p.m.
Kinnickinnic River Theater, University Center

Join us for an interactive presentation from the University of Minnesota's Graduate School. This session is for all students exploring graduate school (not just students interested in the University of Minnesota). This session will provide tips for finding the best graduate program for you, compare masters to Ph.D. programs, and will also feature practical advice to help you work with your recommendation providers, write personal statements, pay for grad school, learn more about entrance exams and more. Questions will be encouraged. The goal is to ensure you walk away feeling more confident and informed about applying to graduate school.
