FAQs for Employees

In this situation, the best thing to do is discuss your concerns with your immediate supervisor.

If you are feeling sick after arriving at work, notify your supervisor immediately. A supervisor may direct you to leave work. Additionally, contact your health care provider and/or local health authorities. Use of sick or other leave such as vacation will be handled pursuant to existing UW System and UWRF policies and procedures.

If an employee tests positive for COVID-19 and notifies their supervisor as required, the supervisor should then immediately contact Custodial Services for cleaning/disinfecting of affected rooms. Custodial Services will consult with the supervisor and follow CDC and Pierce County Health guidance. This guidance recommends closing off areas where someone has been sick for up to 24 hours when possible, then cleaning and disinfecting the area before other employees return to the space. If it has been more than seven days since the sick person accessed the space, disinfection is not required. Notifications to custodial supervisors should not include names, only the building and room(s) affected. Supervisors in Residence Life, the University Center and the Falcon Center should contact the custodial supervisor in their respective department. For all academic/administrative buildings on campus, supervisors should send an email notifcation to melissa.davis@uwrf.edu.
