CAFES Student Activity Impact Grants

CAFES Student Activity Impact Grants are awarded to CAFES student organizations, clubs, and judging teams by the CAFES Alumni Board of Directors through funds from the CAFES Donate for a Difference Fundraising Campaign held each November.

Prior to applying, read through these guidelines and requirements:

  • Grants are to be used to support activity that occurs between Jan. 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024
  • Grant applications are due by noon Monday, November 6, 2023
  • Must be an approved student group
  • Applications must be completed and submitted by a student member of the group, not a faculty or staff advisor
  • At least 4 students must be participating in the event/activity
  • Applications may request either $500 or $1000 in support, please provide details on how the budget will be used.

Applications will be reviewed by a committee comprised of CAFES Alumni Board members and CAFES faculty and staff. Applicants will be contacted before Thanksgiving with a funding decision.

Acceptable uses of funding include, but are not limited to, outreach events and professional development opportunities (including conferences, meetings, judging events, quiz bowls, etc.).  Other uses will be considered---please provide a full description on the application. New initiatives or enhancements to current activities are encouraged. Qualifying applications will explain how receiving this grant will positively impact current members, prospective members, the campus, and/or the community.

Organizations and groups awarded funds through this program will be required to submit a summary narrative report, photographs of the event or activity, and receipts documenting expenses. Due to accounting safeguards we cannot award cash advances, the expenses will have to be incurred by the student organization (student(s), faculty/staff advisor or the associated department) and we will reimburse the expense up to the amount awarded. Questions can be directed to Laura Walsh in the CAFES Dean's Office.
