UWRF Series 80 Collection Inventory
Graduate School
Master’s Theses and Papers, 1965-
Arrangement: Theses are arranged alphabetically by author. Papers were arranged for several years by area of study. In the late 1990’s, the arrangement switched to an alphabetical by author arrangement within a chronological time period.
Quantity: Several volumes and boxes.

Collection Summary: This series contains all of the master’s theses (Plan “A”) and master’s papers (Plan “B”) documents written by graduate students at UW-River Falls. Circulating copies of the theses are also housed in the Davee Library general stacks which can be identified using the Voyager Library Catalog.

From research in commencement programs, it appears the first graduate degree was granted by WSU-RF (now UW-RF) in 1965. James Laska was the recipient of that degree. Thus, his master’s thesis, which was written in 1965, appears to be the first one.
