Alumni Stories

Brett Longdin '96

Get involved as much as you can. Do what you can to do all you can. The opportunities at River Falls are there, you just have to take advantage of them. - Brett Londgin, 1996, Journalism

How did UW-River Falls prepare you for your current job?

River Falls exposed me to some unique opportunities. As early as my second semester at UWRF, I got involved with copy editing and proofreading for the Student Voice campus newspaper. An opportunity I wouldn't have likely gotten at a larger university. It was this type of hands-on exposure early on at River Falls that laid the foundation for my career.

What were you involved in at UW-River Falls?

I was involved in the Student Voice newspaper and did play-by-play and color commentary for the WRFW student radio station.
