UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN River Falls
Think of yourself as the CEO and be as innovative as you possibly can; the people you work for will notice your willingness and creativity.
- Brad Hewitt, 1982, Mathematics
Why did you choose to go to UW-River Falls?
I chose River Fall because it was affordable. I didn't want to take on significant debt for my education. I hoped to work throughout college and pay for it while I attended, which I was able to do. The fact that I didn't have to purchase books at River Falls was another selling point for me.
How did UWRF prepare you for your current job?
River Falls was one step along the way that helped me find success. It was where I learned to be creative and think critically and look at problems in different ways. UW-River Falls rewards students who can think creatively and critically, and that was the most important thing River Falls did for me. It prepared me for the real world where I was able to apply my knowledge and skills in creative and practical ways. Looking back, I appreciate the time I spent thinking and trying new things at River Falls.
What were you involved in at UW-River Falls?
I participated in almost every intramural sport available. Broomball was my favorite. The only one I didn't play was basketball. I also took part in the marketing and math clubs and a Christian fellowship group.
