This policy outlines parameters for filling University Staff Temporary positions at UW-River Falls Additional policy requirements will be followed as defined in the UW System UPS Operational Policy: HR7 and the UW-River Falls University Staff Temporary and Project Appointments Local Policy. Temporary employees hired prior to March 1, 2014 are exempt from this policy for as long as they continue in their current position.
Temporary appointment is a university staff appointment of up to 750 hours within a twelve-month period for which the need for the position/duties is temporary in nature.
Temporary employment is the individual hired into a temporary appointment for which there is no expectation of continued employment.
The UW-River Falls Chancellor issues this policy in accordance with the UPS Operational Policy process.
The Assistant Chancellor for Business and Finance is responsible for the administration of this policy. Request an exception to this policy from the Administrative Policies website (http://www.uwrf.edu/Administration/Policy/).
Failure to adhere to the provisions of this policy may result in appropriate disciplinary action as provided under existing procedures applicable to students, faculty, and staff, and/or civil or criminal prosecution.
