The Professional Development Learning Community curriculum will challenge you to improve your craft and practice while providing you with the tools and strategies necessary to reflect on, evaluate and enhance student learning. If you are dedicated to fostering learning opportunities for all learners and collaborating with colleagues, this program will increase your capacity as a teacher leader.

The Professional Development Learning Community program uses a learning community model that connects theory into practice, practice into strategy, and strategy into transformation. As a graduate, you will be well positioned to become an educational leader and master teacher whose proficiency will transform learning experiences at your school or other educational setting.

  • Anyone interested in developing teacher leadership, teaching and leadership skills in an educational setting. 
  • Pre-K-16 educators who want to lead enhanced learning experiences.
  • Individuals pursuing master teacher status.

Key Features

  • Develop an action research project of your choice to improve your practice and enhance your classroom and school while collaborating with your classmates in a professional learning community.
  • Courses include opportunities for individually designed, experiential learning. Possible areas of focus: Leadership, Curriculum, Equity, Technology, Literacy, Policy, or National Board Certification.
  • Curriculum provides both theoretical and practical experiences based on reflective practice.
