Best Part of Being Involved with SSS:  Support in knowing that people are supporting you to do your best academically, and the events are a fun way to get to know other members of SSS and help from the SSS community

Activities/Interests: Figure skating and horseback riding

Campus Involvement:  Pre-Vet Club

Interesting Fact:  Really enjoy listening to country music

Strengths: 
Knows how to balance college life with academics

 

Krystal ColemanKrystal Coleman

Major:  Elementary Education

Minor:  Coaching

Hometown:  Mora, Minn.

Best Part of Being Involved with SSS:  Meeting new people, getting involved and having new experiences

Activities/Interests:  Two dogs, singing in the car, movies, swimming, and napping

Campus Involvement: Tomorrow's Educators

Interesting Fact:  I am not related to Cora, but she is my twin

Strengths:  Easy to talk to, good listener, and helpful

Best Part of Being Involved with SSS:  Connections are made and learning about what makes one unique

Activities/Interests:  Watching Disney movies, adventures, outdoors, golfing

Campus Involvement:  Alpha Sigma Alpha, National Residence Hall Honorary, and active minds

Interesting Fact:  Shaved head in March, 2014

Positivity, inclusion, and outgoing personality

Hometown:  Superior, Wis.

Best Part of Being Involved with SSS:  Like meeting other people through SSS and appreciates the support from the academic coaches

Activities/Interests:  Bee keeping, reading, movies, outdoors, dogs

Campus Involvement:  SSS Media Specialist, Resident Assistant, Bee Club, Active Minds

Interesting Fact:  Broke arm in fifth grade playing tag

Strengths:  Kind, supportive, helpful, wants others to succeed and be proud of themselves

Major:  Bio-Med

Hometown:  Brooklyn Park, Minn.

Best Part of Being Involved with SSS:  Great program which helps academically, financially, and mentally; the making of connection with SSS students and coaches; feel privileged to be an SSS Scholar

Activities/Interests:  Soccer, bowling, pool, and going out with friends.  

Campus Involvement:  Pre-Health Society, volunteer at hospital, Black Student Union, Memory Care CNA

Interesting Fact:  Like going to church and always aims higher

Strengths:  Motivating SSS Scholars in their academics and doing the best to change lives of SSS Scholars

 

Cora SpearsCora Spear

Major: Elementary Education

Minor:  Early Childhood

Home Town:  Cannon Falls, Minn.

Best Part of Being Involved with SSS:  Love to meet new people, gain new experiences, and free food

Activities/Interests:  Love puppies, doodling, photography, walking, softball, outdoor activities, car karaoke

Campus Involvement:
  America Reads Tutor, Student Worker at Ability Services, Tomorrows Educator, Early Years Enthusiast, Dancing With Diversity

Interesting Fact:  I am not related to Krystal, but she is my twin

Strengths:  Outgoing, friendly, easy to talk to

 

 

GaoZhoua Pa VangGaozhoua Pa Vang

Major:  History

Minor:  Political Science

Home Town:  St. Paul, Minn.

Best Part of Being Involved with SSS:  Interactions between SSS Scholars which creates a community to feel comfortable with

Activities/Interests:  Badminton, soccer, football, basically any sport outside; like to draw, write the spoken word in times of need.

Campus Involvement:  President of the UWRF Badminton Club, Asian American Student Association, works as an anthropology tutor

Interesting Fact:  Left-handed

Strengths:  Responsible, open minded, respectful, fun, and relatable

 

Hue Cheng Vue

Major:  Social Work

Hometown:  St. Paul, Minn.

Best Part of Being Involved with SSS:  Get involved in a new community with people from similar backgrounds and making the best of it as well a meeting new people, workshops, and being a guide throughout college experience

Activities/Interests:  Outdoors, wilderness, plays multiple sports, and the human resources field

Campus Involvement: 
Student Today Leader Forever, Badminton Club, and Asian American Student Association

Interesting Fact:  Currently one of the few pigeon fanciers (pigeon racer) and owns 30 pigeons

Strengths:  Creative, looking at risks of activities, and planning of events

Best Part of Being Involved with SSS:  Being able to find out who I am and be that person

Activities/Interests:  Math, reading, and being outside

Campus Involvement:  Falcon Scholar, LEAD Program, Intramural Sports

Interesting Fact:  Can touch my nose with my tongue

Strengths:  Organization, responsibility, and leadership

Best Part of Being Involved with SSS:  Making new friends and going on field trips

Activities/Interests:  Dance and zumba workouts

Campus Involvement:  Model Officer with Fashion Team and Leader with Dancing with Diversity

Interesting Fact:  Speaks three languages
