Created in 1986, the Women's Studies Program at the University of Wisconsin- River Falls is committed to

* promoting the interdisciplinary study of women,
* creating an intellectual climate that supports feminist teaching and scholarship,
* fostering a spirit of community among women's studies faculty and students,
* and working towards the goal of a just and equitable society.

*Purpose of Women's Studies Minor

A minor in Women's Studies presents students with the following: past and present scholarship on women; a methodology which treats the experience of both sexes as equal in value and scholarly importance; and opportunities to conduct interdisciplinary research in women's studies. The minor consists of a core unit and elective courses in many disciplines, for a total of 23 credit hours (minimum).
