SECTION IV. UWRF BRANDING REQUIREMENTS

D. Font face, font size, and font color

Recommendations:

  • Font faces, font sizes and font colors on a page should be determined by a CSS Style Sheet for the Web site.
  • Arial or a san-serif font is recommeded for paragraph text
  • Text should contain enough contrast from the background to be easily legible
  • Attempt to minimize the use of multiple font faces on a page; a limit of two serif or two san serif fonts is recommended. More than three font faces per page may create confusion.
  • The font color blue should only be used for links to other content
  • Avoid using more than three colors for fonts
  • limit the amount of special font faces and colors for textual content that requires emphasis
  • DO NOT use headers to emphasize words or phrases in paragraph text. Embolden the content instead.
