PosterSymposium Overview

The 9th Annual Symposium for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity will be held in the University Center at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls on Friday, April 25, 2008.

The Symposium gives undergraduate students in all disciplines, from all University of Wisconsin institutions, an opportunity to present their scholarly work on a wide variety of topics from artistic expressions to scientific research. Students participate through oral presentations, poster displays, gallery exhibits, and artistic performances. Throughout the day, participants have the opportunity to interact with students, faculty, and staff from all UW System campuses.

How to Participate

To participate, students submit an abstract of their research by February 5, 2008. Presenters are then selected by campus representatives based on the quality of the abstracts, and notified of their acceptance for participation by March 7, 2008.

Keynote Speaker

The Symposium is pleased to welcome Dr. Patricia Skinkis, Viticulture Extension Specialist from Oregon State University - Department of Horticulture. A Wisconsin native and alumna of UW-River Falls, Dr. Skinkis will present "A Journey of Passion: The Science and Art of Wine." She will also share some of her own research experiences, and reflect on her roles as a student, faculty member and researcher.
