Water

We’re not telling you anything you don’t already know — we live on the water planet.  As well, it is redundant to remind you that we live in a community with the best trout stream in the state running through it, “The Kinnickinnic,” which feeds the St. Croix River, one of the cleanest rivers in the country, especially considering its proximity to a major metropolitan area.  The South Fork of the Kinni that runs the full east–west axis of the UWRF campus and the aquifers that feed it and the main channel, are the source of integrity for this exemplary cold water ecosystem.  Our daily choices about the amount of water we use and our impacts on the quality of local surface and subsurface water are direct influences on our local cultural identity, quality of life, and basic subsistence.  The links below are useful in helping us to all recognize that “we all live downstream.”

As always, your constructive critiques and suggestions for refinement of this portion and the rest of the site are welcome.
