The Climate Action Plan Sub-Group is an ad hoc committee of the Sustainability Working Group charged with developing an integrated, comprehensive climate action plan to reduce fossil fuel energy use and greenhouse gas emissions on campus, to carbon neutrality, as required by signing the American College and University Presidents Climate Commitment (ACUPCC) by UWRF in 2007. The plan will align with other campus plans including the Sustainable Campus Community Plan, the Campus Master Plan, and the Strategic Plan. The plan will be due on January 15 of 2010. The core membership of the Climate Action Plan Sub-Group is comprised of 2 Faculty Members (one is chair), the Director and Associate Director of Facilities Management, and the Senior Facilities Engineer.
The St. Croix Institute for Sustainable Community Development will assist the group in plan development where needed, providing boiler plate and original language, submission, and implementation of the plan.
