Falcon Fellows--We're getting things done!Click Here to See the Falcon Fellows in ActionWho are the Falcon Fellows? The Falcon Fellows Program is a group of passionate UWRF students who have committed themselves to completing 300 hours of volunteer service in the community within one year through the AmeriCorps Programs. The group consists of freshman and sophomores along with a small leadership team of upper class students who have the special role of being Falcon Fellows Mentors. The focus for the 2009-2010 service year has an intergenerational theme titled "Connecting Students, Seniors and Service." Goals and Philosophies: AmeriCorps is the national service movement that engages Americans of all ages and backgrounds in service to address the most critical problems in our nation's communities in the areas of education, public safety, the environment, and other human needs. In exchange for a specified term of service, AmeriCorps members earn an education award to pay back student loans or to finance college, graduate school or vocational training. Some members may also earn a living allowance for their period of service.
