Scheele Reaches 1,000 Career Kill Mark

Nov. 3, 2008

Outside hitter Kelsey Scheele (Jr., Norwood, Minn. Mayer Lutheran HS) reached the 1,000-career kills milestone while the Falcons were competing in the UW-Whitewater Invitational on Friday.

Scheele hit the milestone in the team’s first match against St. Ambrose. She now has 1,054 career kills in her three-year career. She finished with 13 kills against St. Ambrose. In four matches in Whitewater she had 58 kills, two assists, six aces, 83 digs and seven block assists. She led the Falcons in kills in every match and twice led the team in digs. She had 20 kills in a win over Concordia and 31 digs in a win over Elmhurst. This year Scheele leads the Falcons with 447 kills, 40 aces and 512 digs. She has been named to five All-Tournament teams.

Scheele, a junior from Norwood, Minn., has already had a great career at UWRF. In 2007, she was named to the All-WIAC Team. She also received the Most Valuable Player Award and Offensive Player of the Year Award for the 2007 season.

In 2007, she had 445 kills. And, as a freshman in 2006, Scheele had 162 kills. That brings her career-to-date total to 1054 kills. Scheele is nearing the Top 10 in UWRF history with every set.

Falcon Head Coach Patti Ford says she’s happy for Scheele. “Getting 1,000 career kills is something to be incredibly proud of.”
