Maranda Dohrn (Fr., Lake City, Minn.) competed in the shot put event at the Phil Esten Challenge held Friday. Dohrn, 6-0, placed third with a throw of 41-2 ¾. It was her best effort of the season.

Christine Peters (Sr., Red Wing, Minn.) had a great race for the Falcons at the Gustavus Adolphus Invitational held Friday in St. Peter, Minn. Peters finished the race in 39:30.55 and placed third among the women in the mixed 10,000-meter event.

Colleen Kopel (Jr., Stillwater, Minn.) won the heptathlon competition at the Falcon Invitational held last weekend at Ramer Field. Kopel, 5-11, scored 4,295 points which is an NCAA Championships provisional qualifying mark. Kopel ran the 100 hurdles in 15.53, the 200 meters in 27:36 and the 800 in 2:42.36. She leaped 5-0 ¼ in the high jump, threw the shot 33-7 ½, leaped 16-1 ¾ in the long jump and threw the javelin 111-1.

Samantha Nyre (Jr., Mondovi, Wis.) had two strong runs for the Falcons at the Stevens Point Invitational on Saturday. Nyre, 5-6, finished 10 th in the 55 hurdles with a time of 9.23. She ran the 400 where she placed 11 th in 1:02.34.

Carly Eggert (Jr., St. Michael, Minn. St. Michael-Albertville HS) had a great race in the mile run at the St. Olaf Invitational on Friday in Northfield, Minn. Eggert, 5-8, won the mile in 5:19.05.

Jessica Reed (Sr., Hampton, Minn. Hastings HS) took first place in the 55-meter hurdles at the UW-Stout Open held Saturday in Menomonie. Reed, 5-7, placed first in the qualifying rounds with a time of 8.59. She came back and took the top spot in the finals with a time of 8.51.
