Runner of the Week

Ania Sniadajewski (Fr., Stevens Point, Wis.) was the team’s top runner of the Eau Claire Lake Wissota meet on Friday. She finished the 6,000-meter race in 21:39 and the time was a personal best by 1:15. "Ania has a lot of potential to help our team over the next several years,” said Falcon Coach Scott Sekelsky.

Carly Eggert (Jr., St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville) ran personal best time at the Brooks Invitational at UW-Oshkosh on Saturday. Eggert, 5-8, finished in 23:17 and was the second Falcon to cross the finish line. She placed 64th overall of 415 runners. “Carly continues to impress me every time she steps to the line,” said Falcon Coach Scott Sekelsky. “With the help of her teammate, Christine Peters, she ran an aggressive race with a great finish in the last 400 meters. Her time was a personal best by 30 seconds."

Christine Peters (Sr., Red Wing, Minn.)
led the Falcons to an eighth place finish at the Blugold Open held Friday at the Whitetail Golf Course in Colfax. Peters, 5-5, was the top Falcon finisher over the 6,000-meter course. She placed 23rd overall with a time of 23:51. "Christine put in a great summer of training and she is starting to see that pay off now. She is setting herself up nicely for the conference and regional meets next month," said Falcon Coach Scott Sekelsky.

Becca Jordahl (Jr., Pocatello, Idaho Centruy HS)
set a course record in winning the prestigious Griak Invitational race on Saturday at the University of Minnesota. Jordahl was the top finisher with a time of 21:59 over the 6,000-meter course. "Becca was tested throughout the race by two of the nation's best runners. She passed the test by out kicking them both to the finish line," said Falcon Coach Scott Sekelsky. Almost 500 runners competed in the race. This is Jordahl's second win at the Griak. She won last year's race in 22:01.

Becca Jordahl (Jr., Pocatello, Idaho Centruy HS)
won the 5,000-meter race at the All-American Invitational held Saturday at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. She established a Falcon record for the distance finishing in 17:58. "Becca ran an extremely consistent race, especially given the conditions of the course and that this was our first race against competition,” said Falcon Coach Scott Sekelsky. She broke the Falcon record by 48 seconds.

Ellie Maione (Fr., River Falls, Wis.)
and Kathryn Krause (Fr., Webster, Wis.) helped lead the Falcons to an 11-28 win at UW-Eau Claire in a Hokum Karem race on Saturday. They teamed to place first with a time of 55:08. In the event, both team members run three laps of 2,180-meters each in relay fashion. “Ellie and Kathryn set the pace for the rest of the teams to follow and I was impressed with their performances,” said Falcon Coach Scott Sekelsky.
