Singles: No. 5 singles player Mindy Rudiger (So., Menomonie, Wis.) played a great week of tennis, going 1-1 in singles with a near win versus Eau Claire. With the win against Hamline, Rudiger was able to get her season singles record over .500 at 7-6. " She had a close loss against Eau Claire and won big against Hamline," said Lueck. "Mindy is a fighter and never gives in."
Doubles: For the second time in three weeks, Mindy Rudiger (So., Menomonie, Wis.) and Katie Anderson (So., Forest Lake, Minn.) were the Falcons strongest doubles team. The No. 2 team went 1-1 on the week to improve to 8-5 on the season. "They lost 8-3 against Eau Claire, but had our only doubles win against Hamline," said Falcon Coach Lee Lueck. "They make a good team, are only sophomores, and play very aggressively."

Singles: No. 6 singles player Tracey Boyle (Fr., Eau Claire, Wis. North HS) has had an impressive first season with the Falcons. Last week, Boyle defeated Heather Roberts of Bethel 6-4, 6-1. Boyle fought the closest match of any of the Falcons against La Crosse. She lost the first set in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (7-4) and then lost the second set 6-2. "She had the best effort against La Crosse," said Head Coach Lee Lueck. Since stepping into the No. 6 slot, Boyle has brought some much-needed wins to the Falcons with a 5-4 record. "She has really solidified a No. 6 spot that had been taking a lot of losses earlier in the season."
Doubles: The No. 3 doubles team of Cassie Wood (Fr., Wells, Minn. United South Central HS) and Allison Nickel (Fr., Bryon, Minn.) went 1-1 on the weekend with a nice performance against Bethel, winning 8-1. Coach Lee Lueck thinks he has finally found the right combination at the No. 3 doubles spot. "Since being paired together they have really performed well at the No. 3 spot," said Lueck. The tandem has gone 3-3 together on the season. |

"I was very impressed with her victory over Oshkosh's Whitney Tornow." Tornow is a talented freshman for Oshkosh who was scouted by Lueck. Wood won the match against Tornow, 6-4, 6-2. Wood began her week with a loss but ended her week running off three consecutive victories.
