Feb. 19, 2007 Guard Chantele Melgaard (Sr., Lakeville, Minn.) was the team's top player in overtime in a 67-54 overtime win over La Crosse. She scored nine of the team's 17 overtime points to help the team to the win. She scored 14 points, had two rebounds, one assist and two steals in 25 minutes of playing time. She is averaging 7.1 points and 3.3 rebounds a game. She has 49 assists and 39 steals. |

Feb. 5, 2007 Guard Melanie Preiner (Sr., Stillwater, Minn.) helped the Falcons win two WIAC games last week, including a 79-68 win over Stout, the top team in the WIAC and a team ranked No. 10 in the nation. Against Stout she scored 15 points and had three assists. In the team's 61-48 win at Platteville, she led the team with 18 points and she had seven rebounds and four assists. In the two games she was 11-20 from the field (.550), including 7-11 (.636) from three-point range. She was a perfect 4-4 from the line and scored 33 points. She had eight rebounds, seven assists and three steals in 70 minutes of playing time. Preiner, 5-6, is averaging 11.1 points and 3.3 rebounds a game. She is second in steals (35) and second in assists (47). |

Jan. 29, 2007 Guard Melanie Preiner (Sr., Stillwater, Minn.) helped the Falcons win two important WIAC games last week; at Superior, 79-61 and at Oshkosh, 61-54. Preiner, 5-6, led the Falcons with 16 points at Oshkosh. In the two games she was 9-27 (.333) from the field, ut was 7-14 (.500) from behind the arc. She was 3-4 at the line. She scored 28 points, had six rebounds, seven assists, one block and three steals in 68 minutes of action. |

Jan. 22, 2007 Guard Melanie Preiner (Sr., Stillwater, Minn.) helped the Falcons win one of two WIAC games last week with two solid outings. "Melanie had two great games for us and put up some very nice numbers," said Falcon Coach Cindy Hovet. In the team's 52-51 loss at La Crosse, she scored 20 points which ties her career high. She came back with 19 points in the team's 68-44 win at No. 22 ranked Stevens Point. The loss was the first of the season at home for the Pointers. In the two games she was 14-26 (.538) from the field, including a hot 9-13 (.692) from three-point range. She was 2-2 at the line for 39 points. She had five rebounds, four assists, one block and two steals in 64 minutes of action. She turned the ball over just five times. |

Jan. 15, 2007 Traci Reimann (Sr., North Branch, Minn.) had two outstanding games for the Falcons in WIAC play last week. Reimann, a 6-0 post player, led the Falcons in scoring and rebounding in both games finishing with two double-doubles. At No. 15 ranked Stout, she led all scorers with 22 points and he had 12 rebounds. Against Oshkosh she came back with just as an impressive game with 20 points and 12 rebounds. In the two games she was 20-38 (.526) from the field and 2-3 (.667) from the line. She had 24 rebounds, scored 42 points, had four assists, three steals and three blocks in 60 minutes of playing time. "I don't think a player can do any more for a team than what Traci did for us last week," said Falcon Coach Cindy Hovet. Behind Reimann's defensive play the Falcons held Oshkosh to its lowest point total in 787 games. She had six defensive rebounds and two steals in the game. |

Jan. 2, 2007 Post Megan Lindman (Sr., Rochester, Minn. Mayo HS) had two fine games for the Falcons at the Grand Canyon Classic held last weekend in Phoenix, Ariz. The Falcons beat Drew, 68-46, and lost to Wesleyan, 49-45. Lindman, 6-0, scored 23 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the two games and was named to the All-Tournament team. She was 10-15 (.667) from the field and 3-8 from the line. She had one assist, six blocks and four steals in 43 minutes of playing time. Lindman had three blocks in each game to lead the team. She led UWRF in scoring against Wesleyan with 12 points. She leads the Falcons in scoring this year averaging 10.3 points a game. She averages 4.7 rebounds a game. She also leads the Falcons with 13 blocks. She now has 99 career blocks and is just four away from setting the career school record. |

Dec. 11, 2006 Guard Kim Sorenson (Jr., Blaine, Minn.) had her best performance of the year in the team's 54-52 loss to Platteville on Saturday. Sorenson came off the bench to score a career-high 16 points. "She kept us in the game against Platteville," Falcon Head Coach Cindy Hovet said. Sorenson's presence was not only felt on the scoreboard but through her hard-working presence on the court. "She looked like the only player that brought any emotion to that game," Hovet said. In two WIAC games she was 6-9 from the field, including 1-3 from behind the arc. She was a perfect 3-3 at the line. She had two rebounds, three assists and five steals in 39 minutes of playing time. She led the Falcons with 16 points, two assists and four steals against UWP. Sorenson is averaging 5.3 points and 1.1 rebounds a game. She leads the Falcons with 16 steals. |

Dec. 4, 2006 Guard Chantele Melgaard (Sr., Lakeville, Minn.) led the Falcons to two conference wins against UW-Superior (75-33) and UW-Stevens Point (67-60). Melgaard averaged 14.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. She shot 10-23 (.434) from the field, including 6-12 (.500) from behind the arc. She was 3-4 (.750) from the line. She had seven assists, one block and three steals in 62 minutes of playing time in the two games. "Chantele always guards the other team's best player and it can be hard to play well on both ends of the court," Falcon Coach Cindy Hovet said of her senior standout. Melgaard for the season has started every game for the Falcons and is averaging 9.2 points and 27.8 minutes per game. |

Nov. 27, 2006 Post Megan Lindman (Sr., Rochester, Minn. Mayo HS) had a strong start to her senior season as she averaged just over 14 points per game in the Falcons opening three victories. The 6-0 post player scored a career-high 27 points in the team's 58-48 win over St. Thomas. She started all three contests and shot 15-26 (.577) from the field and 13-19 (.684) from the line. She had 14 rebounds (4.7), three assists, one block and three steals in 79 minutes of action. She currently leads the team with a 14.3 points per game average. "St. Thomas was our closest game yet and she really helped us out, she played a great game," said Falcon Coach Hovet said. |
