Assistant Volleyball Coach

Jane Gibbs Jane Gibbs is in her first year as an assistant volleyball coach at UW-River Falls. Gibbs most recently was an assistant volleyball coach at Gardner-Webb University in the 2004 and 2005 seasons. She held responsibilities for team travel, recruiting and practice organization. She also served as the school's volleyball camp program director. Gibbs play four seasons at St. Thomas. She was a four-year starter (2000-03) and helped the Tommies post a 97-31 record and win two MIAC championships (2002, 2003). The setter surpassed 5,300 career assists and ranked among the national leaders as a sophomore and as a junior. She was a two-time (2002, 2003) AVCA All-American and was named the MIAC Player of the Year in 2003. Gibbs was named to the All-MIAC team four times. Since 2004 she has been the owner, director and president of the Black Bear Volleyball Club in Shelby, N.C. She was the head coach of the 17 & under and 16 & under teams. From 2000-03 she was the head coach of the 15 & under team and an assistant coach of that team and the 14 & under team in her hometown, Lakeville, Minn. Gibbs earned her undergraduate degree from St. Thomas in philosophy and Spanish in 2004 and her master's degree from Gardner-Webb in sports science and pedagogy in 2006. |
