2007 Falcon Lineup

Michelle Kelley Michelle Kelley is back with the Falcons for her senior season and will play in the outfield. She hit .202 last year and had three doubles and tied for the team lead with three triples. She had 10 RBIs and a .283 on-base percentage. She was named the team's Most Improved Player after the 2005 season when she hit .214 with a .312 on-base percentage. She has been named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll in 2005 and 2006 and was a NFCA Scholar-Athlete in 2005 and 2006. Her favorite past times are spending time with her family and friends, shopping, snow and water skiing and helping kids. She also enjoys working out and spending time at the family cabin. Her team goals are to have the team play every game like it is the last, finish in the top three in the WIAC and to decrease the number of strike outs. Her individual goal is to keep focused during games and to keep positive thoughts running through her head. She wants to be a team leader and have fun. She admires three people. "My mom because she helps me see the bright things in life; my Aunt Jane who lives everyday as if it was her last and looks at every moment as an opportunity to be positive; and my cousin, Anthony, who recently joined the Marines and has showed me what it means to be alive today. Her future plans are to graduate in the fall of 2008 and someday teach third grade. She is the daughter of Maureen and Mark and has one sister and one brother. Breamber Syverson Breamber Syverson returns for her final season with the Falcons and will again play second base. She gives the Falcons experience at second after starting there for the past three seasons. She hit .277 last year in 41 games and she finished fifth in the NCAA Div. III in sacrifices with 19. The slap hitter had one home run and two RBIs. She scored 22 runs and walked seven times. She stole five bases and had a sparkling .975 fielding percentage. She made only four errors in 163 chances. She was named the team's Player of the Week once. Syverson most admires Green Bay Packer quarterback Brett Favre who, "never misses a game and is always for the team." Her team goal is to finish at the top of the WIAC and her individual goals are to play errorless ball and have less than 10 strikeouts. Her favorite past times are team gatherings, Florida spring trips and winning in extra innings. She is the daughter of Julie and John and has one sister and two brothers. Her future plans are to graduate in May and find a job in sports management working with a professional sports team. At Prescott High School she was named to the All-State team three times and was a member of the National Honor Society for four years. Syverson is majoring in exercise science with a minor in coaching.

Margo Taylor Margo Taylor is back for her senior year with the Falcons and plays catcher. As a pinch hitter last year she played in 24 games and hit .138 with two RBIs. She was voted the team's Most Dedicated Player in 2005 and 2006. Taylor has been named a WIAC Scholar-Athlete and a NCFA Scholar-Athlete in 2004, 2005 and 2006. Her pastimes include playing other sports, coaching, bike riding, swimming and spending times with family and friends. The person she admires most is her Mom, Shelley. "She has taught me so much in life and she is one of the hardest workers I know. She is always there for my sisters and I. She is the biggest reason I am the person I am today. I can not thank her enough for that." Her team goals are to win the WIAC regular season, the playoff championships and to play together as a team. Her individual goals are to keep improving every day, bring something new and positive to the team and to contribute to the team's success in any was possible. Her future goals are to graduate from college and become a sports photojournalist, have a family and live a happy, fulfilling life. She is the daughter of Shelley and has two sisters. Taylor is majoring in broadcast journalism and marketing communications. Favorite Quote: "Shoot for the moon, even if you miss you'll land among the stars."

Ashley Bertrand Ashley Bertrand returns for her junior season with the Falcons and will play a key role with the team as a starting pitcher. She was the team's Co-Most Inspirational award winner in 2006. She finished with a 16-11 record with a 2.26 ERA. She pitched 145.1 innings, struck out 124 and walked 34. She appeared in 38 games and started 33 times. Opponents hit .256 against her. The 124 strikeouts, 38 appearances and 33 starts are all single season Falcon records. She combined with Brittany Rathbun to pitch a no-hitter in a 4-0 win over Franklin & Marshall. She had five complete games, two shutouts and seven combined shutouts. She was named the team's Pitcher of the Week four times. Her favorite past times include watching movies, reading, working out and spending time witih family and friends. She was named to the UWRF Dean's List in her freshman year and was named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll in 2004. The person she admires most is her dad, Mike. "He has always caught for me and been available even on short notice. If I am ever struggling, my dad will try to give me hints that I need to realize what I am doing, compared to what I should be doing. I wouldn't be as successful without him." Her team goals include having a team that plays well together and gets along on and off the field; win eight games in Florida and win 29 games during the season. Her individual goals are to have a better ball to strike ratio and lower her ERA. Her future plans are to be a successful, independent woman with a good income. She wants to have a family and live in Minnesota. She would also like to coach softball players age 16-18. She is the daughter of Wendy and Mike and she has two brothers. She also has a sister-in-law, Amy, and a niece and nephew. Bertrand is majoring in accounting and with a math-business minor. | Emily Howlett Emily Howlett returns to the Falcons for her second season and plays third base. The junior played her freshman season at Northern State. In 2006 she was named to the first All-WIAC team after hitting .328. She started all 42 games for the Falcons and had 10 doubles, one triple and three home runs. She was second on the team with 24 RBIs hitting in the No. 3 spot. She finished with a .500 slugging percentage. Howlett was named the team's Co-Most Valuable Player and was the team's Best Defensive Player award winner. She was named the team's Player of the Week once. She struck out only seven times and walked eight times. She was third in runs scored (24). Howlett has been named to the UWRF Dean's List and to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll after the 2006 school year. She was a NFCA Scholar-Athlete. Her past times include spending time with her family and friends, going to rodeos and farming. The person she admires most is her cousin, Carrie. "Every since I was little I looked up to her. We have all the same values, goals and beliefs. I am in a way modeling my life after her. We are both determined athletes, family orientated individuals and she is a physical education and health teacher which is want I am studying to become." Her team goal is to come together as a team. Her individual goals are to improve her batting average and help the team produce more runs and to increase her range at third base. Her future plans are to become a physical education and health teacher, have a family and eventually own a farm. Howlett is the daughter of Beth and Rick and has three brothers. At Eagan High School she was named to the All-State team and was the team's Most Valuable Player. She was a member of the National Honor Society, the Wildcat Leadership Council and was on the A Honor Roll. She is majoring in health & human performance and health education. Ashley James Ashley James returns for her junior season with the Falcons and will once again handle the catching duties. She has started in that spot the past two years. In 2006 she hit .211 with four doubles, a triple and one home run. She knocked in 13 runs and had a .305 slugging percentage. She finished with an outstanding .973 fielding percentage. James has been named to the UWRF Dean's List, the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll and a NCFA Scholar-Athlete. She earned Sophomore Merit honors from the College of Business and Economics. At Loyola High School she was named to the All-State team three times and was a team co-captain in her final season. She was a member of the National Honor Society and earned Academic All-State honors four times. He past times include spending time with family and friends, going on camping trips, watching movies, reading and enjoying the little things in life. She is the daughter of Karen and Doug and has one brother, a sister in law and a nephew. The people she admires most are her parents and her high school coach, Laura Olson. "I admire my parents because of their constant support and dedication to me and the entire program - and also for the delicious food! Laura has shown me a love for the game and how to incorporate my experiences on the field into my everyday life." Her team goals are to have fun, enjoy the season and win the WIAC title. Her individual goals are to improve her hitting statistics and cut down on errors. She also wants to improve mentally and physically and to enjoy the sport she loves with a great group of teammates and friends. Her future plans are to graduate and earn a MBA degree. James is majoring in finance. Amanda Peters Amanda Peters is back with the Falcons for her junior season after starting every game for the Falcons in 2006. She started all but one game at first base. She hit .304 with four doubles, a triple and one home run. She was third on the team with 22 RBI. She led all fielders with a .979 fielding percentage. Peters was twice named the team's Player of the Week. Peters was named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll in 2005 and 2006 and to the Dean's List after the spring 2006 semester. He past times include Suduko puzzles, reading, four-wheeling, hiking, swimming, fishing, playing board games and spending time with her family and friends. At Pepin High School she was named to the all-conference softball team three times and was a co-captain in her senior season. She also earned letters in volleyball and basketball. She earned a Lions Club and Pepin Ambulance scholarships and was on the A and B Honor Rolls. Peters was also a vice president of the Lund Covenant Youth group. Her team goal is to win the WIAC Championship and her individual goals are to hit the ball hard and become a more focused team player. She admires her family, "because they are always there for me in good times as well as bad. I also admire my high school softball coach, Jim Haines, because he pushed me not only to become a college player but he taught me lessons that have helped me to become a good person too." Brittany Rathbun Brittany Rathbun returns to the mound for the Falcons for her junior season. In 2006 she led the NCAA Div. III in saves with nine. In 33 appearances she had a team best 1.85 ERA. In 109.2 innings pitched she struck out 93 and walked 27. Opponents hit just .248 against her. The drop ball pitcher had a 3-8 record and started eight times. She threw a no-hitter in the team's 4-0 win over Carleton. Rathbun faced 22 batters, just one over the minimum. Rathbun struck out seven. She also combined with Ashley Bertrand in a no-hitter against Franklin & Marshall. She was named the team's Co-Most Valuable Player and has earned honorable mention to the All-WIAC in 2005 and 2006. She was named the team's Pitcher of the Week twice. Rathbun has been named to the Dean's List four times and to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll in 2005 and 2006. She was a NFCA Scholar-Athlete in 2005 and 2006 and was the team's Most Improved Player in 2005. Her favorite past times include playing basketball, roller blading, watching movies, working with kids, spending time with her family and watching the Minnesota Twins. At Mayo High School she earned honorable mention to the 2004 All-State team and was a team captain for three seasons. Rathbun was a member of the National Honor Society and on the A Honor Roll for four years. She was a Big 9 Conference Scholar-Athlete and was named to the Minnesota Basketball Coaches Association Academic All-State team. She is the daughter of Rick (Chopper) and Sue. She most admires her parents. "They have been there for me during my best times and worst. They have helped me celebrate my achievements as well as helped get me through the rough times." Her team goals are to finish in the top three of the WIAC, have a winning record and win nine games in Florida. Her individual goals are to rehabilitate to get back into shape and to better her statistics from last year in order to help the team. Her future plans are to graduate and find a teaching and coaching job. She would like to coach high school softball and live in the Minnesota/Wisconsin area. Keri Feller Keri Feller returns for her second season with the Falcons and can play catcher, first base and handle the designated player duties. A strong hitter, she hit .307 for the 2006 Falcons. Feller had five doubles, two triples and one home run. She had 19 RBI and a .443 slugging percentage. Feller was named to the all-conference three times at Austin High School and also earned honorable mention to the All-State team. Her favorite past times include attending sporting events, spending time with friends and family, shopping, going to concerts and being outdoors. She is the daughter of Debra and Scott and has one sister. The person she admires most is her mom. "My mom has been the definition of a strong, independent woman for my entire life. She has taught me to never settle for anything but the best in any avenue of life, and that for good things to come, you have to work hard to receive them. She is also the one responsible for the person and athlete I am today." Her teams goals are to win the WIAC tournament and to have good team chemistry. Her individual goal is to be a positive asset to the team. Her future plans are to have a successful career and have an amazing home life. Rachel Mathias Rachel Mathias is back for her second season with the Falcons and will once again play in the outfield. Mathias has the skill and talent to play any of the outfield spots. In 2006 she played in 35 games and hit .273. She has outstanding speed and a quick bat. She had five doubles, two home runs and 14 RBI. She was named the team's Most Improved Player. Mathias was twice named to the all-conference first team at Ripon High School. She also earned honorable mention to the All-State team and earned an academic All-State award. She was named the team's top defensive player twice and was a team captain. She was a member of the National Honor Society and the High Honor Roll. Her past times include being outdoors, swimming, riding her horse, four wheeling, hunting, eating and watching movies with friends. She is the daughter of Gretch Tolsma and Lyle Mathias and has one sister, one half sister and five step brothers. "I admire my older sister because she is amazing. She is always there to talk to about anything whenever I need to. She seems to know just what to say to be helpful, and gives great advice on getting through tough situations. I look up to her a lot, and love her even more." Her team goals is to help the team win 29 games. Her individual goals are to improve every part of her game and not let her mind get in the way. Her future plans are to teach kindergarten, first or second grade and to eventually earn a master's degree. Mathias is majoring in elementary education with a minor in early childhood. Cassie Peterson Cassie Peterson returns for her second year with the Falcons and plays second base. She was named the Co-Most Inspiration Player in 2006. In 12 games she hit .375, scored six runs and had five RBI. She played at New Richmond High School and helped lead the team to the conference championship and was the team's captain. She was twice named to the all-conference team in softball and once in volleyball. She was on the academic honor roll for four years and was the school's Homecoming queen in her senior year. Her favorite pastimes include playing softball and volleyball and coaching youth volleyball. Her team goals are to win the WIAC championship and to have 29 or more wins on the season! The people she admires most are her parents. "They have supported me in everything that I have done. They are great role models and my dad's been a great coach." She is the daughter of Debbie and Brian and has two sisters. Peterson's individual goals are to keep her batting average high, keep a good balance between academics and softball and to continue to improve her fielding. Her future plans are to graduate from UWRF with an education degree and coaching minor and to become an elementary school teacher and coach softball and volleyball. Kelly Quinn Kelly Quinn returns for her second season with the Falcons and is a pitcher. She appeared in eight games in 2006 and finished 2-0 with a 1.87 ERA. She struck out six and walked six in 15 innings pitched. Opponents hit .286 against her. Quinn helped North St. Paul High School win the consolation championship in the 2005 season and the runner up spot in the 2004 championships. She was a member of the National Honor Society and earned a Presidential Award for academic excellence. Her favorite past times include hanging out with her friends, going to the family cabin, watching movies, and going to Minnesota Twins games. She is the daughter of Patty and Gerald and has one brother. "I admire my parents because they have been completely supportive of me in everything that I do. My dad has always been my catcher, and he is there through countless hours and practice together." Her team goals are to win 29 games and to have a team GPA of above 3.25. Her individual goals are to have an ERA under two and for opponents to bat under .250 against her. Her future plans are to be a high school teacher. Mindy Rudiger Mindy Rudiger returns for her second season with the Falcons and plays shortstop. She started all 42 games last year and finished with a .348 batting average. She led the Falcons with 135 at bats, 35 runs scored and 12 doubles. The 35 runs is fourth and the 12 doubles is second in a single season. She also hit two home runs and had 18 RBI. She won the team's Best Offensive Player of the Year award and earned honorable mention to the All-WIAC team. She had a .504 slugging percentage and led the team with a .417 on-base percentage. She is a member of the Falcon tennis team. Rudiger earned Dean's List honors after the 2006 fall semester and she was named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll after the 2006 school year. She is also a member of the Falcon tennis year. She placed second at No. 2 doubles and third at No. 5 singles at the WIAC Meet. At Menomonie High School she was named to the all-conference team four times and was twice the team's captain. She also competed in the WIAA tennis championships and was twice named to the all-conference tennis team. Her past times include camping, eating and working out. She is the daughter of DiAnn and Steve and has two sisters. Rudiger most admires her parents. "They are simply, absolutely amazing!! I'm very fortunate to have parents that are so caring, loving, supportive, helpful and fun." Her team goals are to win 29 games and to finish in the top three at the WIAC tournament. Her individual goals are to be named to the first All-WIAC team and to have a fielding percentage above .950. Her future plans are to become an elementary school teacher and to have a family. Ashley Hammerbeck Ashley Hammerbeck joins the Falcons for her first year of college softball. At D.C. Everest High School she was a four year letter winner and was a WFSCA Senior All-Star. She was twice named to the all-conference team and was her team's Defensive Player of the Year in 2006. She also earned three basketball letters and was a team captain. Hammerbeck was on the Honor Roll for four years and was a member of the National Honor Society. She earned four academic letters and was a WIAA Scholar-Athlete. Her favorite past times include playing summer ball with the Danes, playing basketball and spending time with family and friends. Her team goals are to win 29 games and the WIAC tournament title. Her individual goals are to be a versatile player and to contribute to the team's success. She is the daughter of Carolyn and Tom. "I admire my family because they have supported all of my endeavors." Her future plans are to pursue a career in physical therapy. Hammerbeck is majoring in biology with a minor in chemistry. Jessica Lundgren Jessica Lundgren is in her first year with the Falcons. At St. Croix Falls High School she was named to the All-State team for three seasons and was named to the all-conference team four times. She was the team's Most Valuable Player and captain twice. In basketball she was named to the all-conference team twice and in skiing was named to the all-conference team four times. She was an FFA officer and a member of the Polk county state winning dairy cattle judging team. She was a member of a state juding team at three national dairy cattle judging contests. Her favorite past times are being outside, playing softball, being with family and friends, playing pool and ping pong, juding cows and enjoying live. She is the daughter of Jenelle and Jim and has two brothers. "I admire my family - they have always been there to support and encourage me. But my Grandma Millie Lundgren is the person I admire most. She has always been there to listen and make me laugh when I needed to . She has taught me many things and even tried to teach me to cook!! Thanks - love you all!" Her team goal is to win 29 games. Her future plans are to work for an agricultural business or go home and work on the family dairy farm. Lundgren is majoring in agricultural business and a minor in dairy science. Kelli Rahlf Kelli Rahlf joins the Falcons for her first season and college softball and plays third base. At Byron High School she was twice named to the all-conference team and was the team's captain. She played in the All-Star series. Her favorite past times are hanging out with friends, shopping and watching movies. Her team goal is to beat Eau Claire. Her individual goals are to be the best she can and give 100 percent all of the time. She is the daughter of Laurie and Randy and has one sister and one brother. Her future plans are to earn a CPA license and run her own business. Favorite Quote: "Potential is ability sitting on its rear end." |

Sarah Stoffa Sarah Stoffa is in her first year with the Falcons and will pitch. At River Falls High School she was named to the all-conference team three times. She was the team's Most Valuable Player, Rookie of the Year and captain. She also earned All-State academic honors and was an Honors graduate. Her favorite past times include spending time with family and friends, finding adventures and traveling. "The people I admire most are my parents. They have never left my side. They're the ones who I can trust with anything and everything." Her team goals are to win the WIAC Championship and advance to the NCAA Championships. Her individual goal is to do anything she can for the team's success. She is the daughter of Julie and Don and has two brothers. Rebecca Troop Rebecca Troop is in her first year with the Falcons and can play either catcher or in the outfield. At Lakeville North High School she earned honorable mention to the All-State team and was the team's Most Valuable Player. She is the daughter of Martha and Jeff and has three brothers. "I admire my mom because she is an amazing person." Her team goals are to win the WIAC championship and for the team to win 29 games. Her individual goal is to become an important part of the team. Her future plans are to become a physical education teacher. Troop was also a member of the 2006 Falcon volleyball team. She is majoring in health & human performance with a minor in adaptive physical education. |

Jessalyn Weaver Jessalyn Weaver joins the Falcons for her first season of college softball and is a pitcher. She was named to the Dean's List after the fall, 2006 semester. Her favorite past times include dancing, and playing golf and baseball. She is the daughter of Lorena and Jon and has one brother. "The person I admire most is my mother because she is a great role model and she is very successful." Her future plans are to go into the business field and one day own her own business. Amber Dohlman Amber Dohlman will be the team's manager for the 2007 season. The junior from Riceville, Iowa, is majoring in health & human performance-exercise science. Her favorite past times include horse riding, playing and coaching softball, showing Simmental cattle, watching movies and working in the Falcon sports information office. She admires her family for always being there for her and supporting her through whatever she does. They also taught her to never give up and to do what her heart desires. Her team goals are to have good team chemistry and finish in the top of the WIAC standings, and above all to have fun. Her individual goal is to help the team any way she can, and to learn as much as possible from the Falcon coaching staff. After graduation she would like to go to graduate school, coach college softball and raise livestock. She is the daughter of Marge and Lowell and has two sisters.
