Peterson Named to NSCAA All-Central Region Soccer Team

Falcon soccer player Ashley Peterson (Sr., Lino Lakes, Minn. Forest Lake HS) has been named to the NSCAA All-Central Region second team. Earlier this year Peterson was named to the All-WIAC first team for the fourth straight year. She was also named to the D3Kicks.com second All-Central Region team. Peterson, who played forward for most of the 2006 season, led the team in scoring with 17 goals and nine assists for 43 points. She scored five game-winning goals. In her four year career she finished with 37 goals, 25 assists for 99 points. The 17 goals she scored is fourth most, the nine assists is fourth most and the 43 points is fifth most in a season. The 37 career goals in second, the 25 assists is second and the 99 points is fourth most on the Falcon career list. She was named the team's Offensive Player of the Week four times during the 2006 season. Peterson was named the WIAC Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 10 and Sept. 18. Julie Asselin (1997), Kate Pelinka (1998, 1999) and Sarah Carlson (2005) were all named to the first NSCAA All-Central Region team. The Falcons finished 10-7-2 overall and 5-3 in the WIAC. They advanced to the WIAC playoffs for the fifth straight season in 2006. |
