Pitcher
Jessalyn Weaver (Fr., Eagan, Minn.) earned her first collegiate win in the team's 14-7 win over Whitewater on Sunday at Ramer Field. She pitched three and two-thirds innings in relief and allowed four hits. She allowed two runs; only one was earned. Weaver appeared in three games during the week. She pitched six and two-thirds innings and allowed 11 hits and four runs; three were earned. She struck out two and walked three. This year Weaver has a 1.59 ERA in 22 innings. She has appeared in 10 games, struck out seven and walked seven. She leads the team with four saves.

Second baseman Breamber Syverson (Sr., Prescott, Wis.) was the team's leading hitter in six games during the week. She was 9-19 (.474) at the plate with one RBI. She had hits in five of the six games and was 2-2 with two runs scored and a RBI in the team's 14-7 win over Whitewater on Sunday at Ramer Field. Syverson walked once and had a .500 on-base percentage as the Falcons finished 3-3. She had three sacrifices, stole three bases in three tries and did not commit an error in 26 fielding chances. She started all six games and batted in the No. 2 spot in the lineup. The left-handed slap hitter has started all 38 games and is fourth on the team with a .310 average. She leads the team with 17 stolen bases and 21 sacrifices.

Ashley Bertrand (Jr., St. Paul, Minn. Como Park HS) helped the Falcons win four of six WIAC games last week. The right hander started four games and had a 2-1 record with a 2.10 ERA. She earned a 1-0 win over fifth-ranked UW-Eau Claire and a 3-2 win over 18 th ranked UW-Stevens Point. She went the distance against Eau Claire and allowed just two hits. She also pitched seven innings in the win over UWSP. She allowed two earned runs and eight hits. She walked only one and struck out five. In the four games she worked 20 innings and allowed 19 hits. Bertrand struck out 15 and walked six. Opponents hit .253 against her. This year she has a 12-3 record with a 1.55 ERA.

Shortstop Mindy Rudiger (So., Menomonie, Wis.) was the team's top hitter in the six WIAC games played last week. The Falcons finished 4-2. Rudiger was 9-18 for a .500 average. She scored four runs, had four doubles and one home run. The homer was a three-run shot against UW-Stout. The homer, her team-leading seventh of the year, tied the game at the time, 3-3, and the Falcons went on to a 6-3 win. Rudiger, who had a .571 on-base percentage during the week, also walked three times. She had five RBI and handled 16 of 18 chances in the field. In all games, Rudiger is hitting .390 with seven home runs and 22 RBI. She is the team's lead-off hitter.

Sarah Stoffa (Fr., River Falls, Wis.) picked up two big wins on the road for the Falcons last week. The right hander got the win in relief in an 8-6 win at Platteville on Saturday and she picked up a win in a 4-1 win at La Crosse on Sunday. She also pitched on inning in the team's 7-2 win over St. Scholastica. Stoffa pitched 3.2 innings to get the win at Platteville. She didn't allow any hits or runs. She struck out five and walked two. She got her first start of the season at La Crosse on Sunday and worked the first four innings. She allowed two hits and one earned run. She struck out three and walked five. Against St. Scholastica she worked the seventh inning and she allowed one hit and one earned run. She struck out two and walked one. In the three games she pitched 8.2 innings, allowed three hits and two earned runs. She struck out 10 and walked eight. Opponents hit just .107 against her and she had a 1.62 ERA. The two wins were Stoffa's first victories of the season and she is now 2-0 with a 1.43 ERA.

Outfielder Ashley Hammerbeck (Fr., Rothschild, WI/D.C. Everest HS) helped the Falcons to six wins last week, including four WIAC road wins. The left fielder finished 6-14 at the plate for a .429 average in the six games. She scored six runs and led the Falcon with three doubles. She had four RBI and walked three times. She stole one base. Hammerbeck made one error in 10 chances in the field. She had hits in four of the six games going 3-5 with two RBI and a run scored at Platteville and 3-6 with two RBI and a run scored at La Crosse. She walked three times and scored twice in the 7-2 win over St. Scholastica. In the 8-6 win at Platteville, she tied the game with a two run double in the fifth. In the 7-5 win at La Crosse, Hammerbeck doubled home a run in the sixth to start a three-run rally that tied the game, 5-5, at the time. In the 4-1 win at La Crosse she singled home the team's fourth run in the sixth with two outs. Hitting in the seventh spot in the line up, Hammerbeck currently is hitting .286.

Brittany Rathbun (Jr., Rochester, Minn. Mayo HS) pitched a no-hitter in the team's 10-0 win over Hamline on Friday at the Rosemont Dome. The right-hander faced 17 batters, two over the minimum. She walked one and struck out six. A HU runner reached first on an error in the first inning. The walk came to the lead off hitter in the second and she was later retired trying to advance on a fielding play. The second batter in the fifth inning reached base on a throwing error. She retired the side in order in the third and fourth innings. She is now 7-3 this year with a 1.25 ERA.

Shortstop Mindy Rudiger (So., Menomonie, Wis.) helped lead the Falcons to a sweep of Hamline on Friday at the Rosemount Dome. In the team's 11-2 win, the lead off hitter was 2-3 with two runs scored and two RBI. She led off the game with a solo homer to center field. She now has four home runs this year that ties the season record for homers in a season. In the second game she was 2-3 with two four runs scored and two RBI. In the two games she reached base on all nine plate appearances. She is hitting .367 this year and leads the team in runs scored (24).

Ashley Bertrand (Jr., St. Paul, Minn. Como park HS) pitched in both games in a doubleheader against Con.-St. Paul at Ramer Field. The right0hander got the 4-1 win in the first game. She pitched five innings and allowed two hits and one earned run. She walked two and struck out one. Bertrand took the loss in the second game. She pitched four innings and allowed three hits and one earned run in the 2-0 loss. She walked one and struck out four. She has a 7-2 record this year with a 0.97 EA. She has walked only 16 and struck out 78 in 64.2 innings.

Right fielder Amanda Peters (Jr., Pepin, Wis.) got hits in both games in a doubleheader against Con.-St. Paul at Ramer Field. The Falcons won the firsts game, 4-1, but lost the second, 2-0. In the win the right-handed hitter was 2-3 with one RBI. She doubled in the sixth inning and she had the RBI with a singled in the fourth. In game two she was 1-3; she doubled to center in the fifth. Peters has a .216 average with three doubles and seven RBI.

Shortstop Mindy Rudiger (So., Menomonie, Wis.) helped lead the Falcons to a 7-1 win over St. Scholastica on Saturday at Ramer Field. Rudiger was 4-4 in the game with three runs scored and one RBI. She doubled in the fourth. The Flacons lost a 3-2 decision to Gustavus Adolphus and in the two games Rudiger was 4-7. She had two putouts, three assists and one error in the field. Rudiger has started all 16 games at shortstop for the Falcons and is hitting .340. She leads the team with three home runs and has six doubles.

Right-hander Ashley Bertrand (Jr., St. Paul, Minn. Como Park HS) helped the Falcons to a 7-3 record at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Fla., last week. She appeared in eight games and started six times. She threw two complete games and had a 3-1 record and one save. She pitched 36.2 innings and allowed 20 hits. She walked only five and struck out 50. Opponents hit .153 against her and she had a 0.57 ERA. She pitched a one hitter in a 3-1 win over Lake Forest and a three hitter in a 2-1 win over Fontbonne. She struck out a season high 10 in the Lake Forest game. Bertrand picked up a save in a 3-0 win over Denison. This year she has a 5-1 record with a 0.59 ERA.

Third baseman Emily Howlett (Jr., Eagan, Minn.) helped lead the Falcons to a 7-3 record at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Fla., last week. In 10 games she was 14-30 at the plate and hit .467. She led the team with 11 runs scored and 14 hits. She had seven doubles, a triple and a home run. She had a .867 slugging percentage and a .455 on-base percentage. She led the team in both categories. Howlett also led the team with eight RBI. She had two errors in 26 chances and had a .923 fielding percentage. She had multiple hits in four games and multiple RBI in two contests. Howlett had two doubles in games against the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and Mount St. Joseph. She had at least one hit in nine of the team’s 10 games. In all 14 games she is hitting .523.

Ashley Bertrand (Jr., St. Paul, Minn. Como Park HS) pitched a complete game and helped the Falcons to a 3-2 win over Carelton College on Wednesday at the Rosemount Dome. The right-hander allowed five hits and two unearned runs. She struck out nine and walked only one.

Third baseman Emily Howlett (Jr., Eagan, Minn.) helped lead the Falcons to a sweep of Carleton College. The Falcons won the first game, 3-2, and the second game, 8-2. Howlett finished 4-6 at the plate with a triple, two RBI and three runs scored. Howlett also walked once. She handled six chances in the field with no errors.
