Chad Ernst (Fr., Richfield, Minn.) earned a second place finish in the 10,000-meter run ( 32:43.83) on Friday at the Phil Esten Challenge hosted by UW-La Crosse.   He beat eight other competitors in that event.

Jason Phillippi (Jr., Maplewood, Minn. Tartan HS) was the top Falcon finisher in the 800 at the University of Minnesota Snowshoe Open held Friday. He ran a 1:58.55 and placed 12 th overall. He was the top finishing Div. III runner in the race.

Field
Clint Christy (Sr., Tomah, Wis.) was the top Falcon in the long jump at the University of Minnesota Snowshoe Open held Friday. He leaped 21-8 3/4 and placed fifth overall. He was the top Div. III finisher in the event.

Jason Phillippi (Jr., Maplewood, Minn. Tartan HS) won the mile run at the Coca Cola Classic held Saturday at UW-River Falls. He finished in 4:20.5. He finished three and one/half seconds ahead of the second place runner. His time was his best of the 2007 indoor season.

Clint Christy (Sr., Tomah, Wis.) set a school record in the pentathlon and placed second in the event scoring 3,400 points at the MSU-Mankato Open held Saturday in Mankato, Minn. Christy finished in 9.24 in the 60 hurdles, jumped 21-5 1/2 in the long jump, threw the shot 39-7, leaped 6-2 ¼ in the high jump and ran the 1,000 in 2:58. The old record was 3,205 points set by Scott Hanold in the 1994 season.

Anthony Goeltz (Sr., Green Bay, Wis. Preble HS) performed well in two events at the Stout Open held Saturday in Menomonie. Goeltz placed eighth in the weight throw with a toss of 41-8-1/2. He also placed 16 th in the shot put with a 38-0 1/4 effort.
