Meet the Falcons

Tyler Kostiuk

Tyler Kostiuk

Tyler Kostiuk is in his senior season with the Falcons and gives the team solid play as a forward. Kostiuk is one of the top playmakers in small college hockey and has demonstrated those skills game in and game out. He shows his offensive flair in every game and provides the Falcons with offensive spark when it's needed. He has a talent for moving the puck up ice and has the ability to find the open player and get him the puck.   He sees the ice very well.
2005-06: Kostiuk had his best year scoring eight goals and finishing with 14 points. He had one game-winning goal against St. Thomas on Jan. 14. He played in every game with his best outing was a one goal, two assist performance in the team's 7-4 win over Augsburg on Nov. 12. He scored at least one point in three straight games at the mid point of the season. Kostiuk earned the team's Don Joseph Most Improved Player award. He was named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll.
2004-05: He finished with four assists in 15 games. He registered two assists in a 6-2 win over Con.-Moorhead on Nov. 6. He earned his second letter.
2003-04: Kostiuk scored six goals and had eight assists for 14 points. He scored three power-play goals and had one game winner. His 14 points was the most for a first year Falcon. The game winner came in a 3-0 win over Stout on Dec. 13. He was named the team's Player of the Week on Feb. 2 when he came up with two timely goals to lift the Falcons to two ties on the road in NCHA play. His goal early in the third period against Superior tied the game 2-2. His penalty shot goal with less than five minutes remaining gave the Falcons a 1-1 tie at St. Scholastica.
Personal: Kostiuk led the AWHL in assists with 61 in 2003. He also netted 19 goals. He is the son of Ken and Toni and has two brothers and one sister. Kostiuk is majoring in marketing communications.

Jared Sailer

Jared Sailer

Jared Sailer returns for his senior season for the Falcons. He plays forward and has shown steady improvement throughout his UWRF career. Sailer is a big, powerful forward who has had two solid seasons. Even though he's one of the biggest players on the team, he has a great touch with the puck. Sailer uses his size and skills to be a regular in the Falcon lineup.
2005-06: One of the team captains, Sailer scored four goals and nine points in 23 games. He had two power-play goals and one game-winner. He scored the game-winning goal in a 3-1 win over Stevens Point on Nov. 18. He was named the team's Player of the Week on Jan. 30 after registering a goal and an assist in a 4-3 win over Lake Forest. He scored two goals in the team's season-opening 5-1 win over Eau Claire. Three times he scored points in back-to-back games. He finished with two multi-point games and two power-play points. The Falcons had a 3-0-0 record when he scored a goal.
2004-05: Sailer played in 22 games and finished with six goals and 11 points. He had three power-play goals. He was named the team's Most Improved Player. Twice he scored two goals in a game - in a 7-4 loss at Stevens Point on Dec. 4 and in a 3-2 loss to St. Norbert on Jan. 15. He was named the team's Player of the Week on Jan. 17.
2003-04: He scored four goals and had two assists for six points in his first season with the Falcons. He scored his first collegiate goal in his first game against MSOE on Oct. 21 and scored one game winner - it came in a 3-2 win over St. Scholastica on Jan. 23.
Personal: He led the AWHL with 46 goals in 2003. He also registered 36 assists. He was a first-team All-Star and earned team Co-MVP honors. Sailer is the son of Bill and Val. He is majoring in marketing.

Joe Adams

Joe Adams

Joe Adams stepped up his play at forward and proved to be a reliable player in both ends of he rink for the Falcons.
2005-06: Adams had a solid second season for the Falcons as a forward. In 18 games he had five goals and six points. He scored a hat trick in the team's 8-0 win over Lawrence. Adams was named the team's and WIAC's Player of the Week after scoring the hat trick. He scored all of his points at Hunt Arena and scored four of his goals in the first period of games. The Falcons had a 3-0-0 record when he scored a goal. Adams earned Dean's List honors after the fall semester. He was named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll for the second time.
2004-05: Adams finally broke into the Falcon lineup in the team's final five games and showed his talents on both ends of the ice. His patience paid off as he helped the Falcons in their playoff run. In the five games he picked up one assist, in a 4-0 win over Stout in the first round of the NCHA playoffs. He was named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll. Adams was named to the Dean's List after the spring semester.
Personal: In 2004 he led Bismarck   to the Borne Cup championship. In January (2004), Adams was named the NAHL's West Division Offensive Player of the Month. He was also voted the team's Most Valuable Player, the playoff Most Valuable Player and he received the Matt Plauzak Award, given to the player who best represents the team on and off the ice. Those awards were all voted on by his teammates. He lists his biggest junior hockey thrill as winning back-to-back Borne Cup championships in 2003 and 2004. Adams also played baseball at Roseau High School and helped that team to a runner-up finish in the Minnesota State Tournament. He is the son of Mike and Kris and has one sister. Adams is majoring in elementary education.

Patrick Borgestad

Pat Borgestad brings a wealth of talent to the Falcons and will be a key forward for the team in 2006-07. His size and strength make him tough to defend.
2005-06: Borgestad had a great sophomore season for the Falcons. He earned honorable mention to both the All-NCHA and All-WIAC teams. Three times he was named the team's Player of the Week (Nov. 7, Dec. 19, Jan. 23). He finished third in scoring with 13 goals and 26 points. He scored five power-play goals and three game-winners. His three game-winning goals tied him for 29 th in the NCAA Div. III. The Falcons were 7-3-1 when he scored a goal. He was third on the team in power-play points (5-8-13). He had seven multiple point games with his best performance a one goal, two assist effort in a 5-5 tie with St. Olaf. Borgestad scored at least one point in four straight games. He was a consistent player both at home and on the road. He scored 14 points at home and 12 on the road.
2004-05: Borgestad joined the Falcons at the mid point of the season and played in three games. He saw the ice in home games against St. Scholastica and Superior and at St. Norbert.
Personal: Borgestad played junior hockey at Des Moines of the USHL. He earned a spot on the 2002 USHL All-Start team. Borgestad also competed with the North American Selects and with Team Minnesota in the Select 17 Tournament. The Select 17 team won the tournament championship. He lists his biggest junior hockey thrill as playing int eh USHL playoffs. At Como Park High School he was twice named to the all-conference team and earned honorable mention to the All-State team. He is the son of Becky and Bob and has two brothers and one sister. He has a son, Brady, 16 months old. Borgestad is majoring in health & human performance.

AJ Bucchino

AJ Bucchino

AJ Bucchino is one of the top goalies in the nation and will be the main goalie for the Falcons in 2006-07.
2005-06: Bucchino was named to the first All-NCHA and All-WIAC teams after finishing with a 10-5-3 record with a 2.08 goals against average and a .938 saves percentage. He was named the team’s Player of the Week four times. He was the NCHA’s Player of the Week on Jan. 16 and the WIAC Player of the Week on Feb. 7. Bucchino finished third in the nation in saves percentage, ninth in goals against average and 23 rd in winning percentage. He earned honorable mention to the All-USCHO.com team and was named to the All-West Rookie team. He earned a 5-1 win over Eau Claire in his first start for the Falcons. He put together a four-game winning streak at the midpoint of the season. Bucchino recorded two shutouts. He made 33 saves in a 3-0 win over St. Thomas and he stopped 23 shots in a 1-0 win over Superior. His high save game was a 46 saves performance in a 5-3 win over St. Scholastica. He stopped more than 31 shots in 15 games. He allowed 14 power-play goals and no short-handed goals.
Personal: Bucchino played the 2002-03 and 2004-05 seasons at Des Moines of the USHL. The left handed catching keeper played the 2003-04 season at the University of New Hampshire. In the 2002-03 season he had a 3.52 goals against average and a .909 saves percentage in 35 games. Bucchino was named the USHL’s Goalie of the Month in March and was twice named the league’s Defensive Player of the Week. He played 40 games in the 2004-05 season with the junior team and had a 3.89 goals against average and an .888 saves percentage. He helped his prep school win two high school championships and was twice named the Most Valuable Player at Tilton. He was twice named to the All-Star team. He lists his biggest high school hockey thrill as winning two prep school championships and his biggest junior hockey thrill as competing in the 2003 USHL playoffs against Waterloo. He is the son of Iris and Joe and has two brothers and one sister. Bucchino is majoring in psychology.

TJ Dahl

TJ Dahl

TJ Dahl has had two great seasons for the Falcons. He is the current career leader in goals (21), assists (39) and points (60). He is a talented forward who has solid offensive skills.
2005-06: Dahl had a second straight banner year for the Falcons. He was named to the first All-NCHA and All-WIAC teams after finishing with nine goals and 30 points. His 21 assists led UWRF. He scored six power-play goals and two game-winners. Dahl was named the team's Player of the Week twice (Nov. 14, Nov. 21) and was named the NCHA and WIAC Player of the Week on Nov. 22. He earned honorable mention to the USCHO team. He was also one of the team's assistant captains. Dahl tied for the team lead with nine multiple point games and four times had three points in a contest. He scored at least one point in five straight games and scored at least a point in nine of 10 games early in the season. He earned honorable mention to the 2005-06 All-USCHO.com preseason team. Dahl was a consistent scorer throughout games with 12 first period, 10 second period and nine third period points. He scored 22 (8-14) points at home and 9 (1-8) points on the road. Dahl finished second in power-play points (6-11-17) and UWRF was 6-0-0 when he scored a goal.
2004-05: Dahl had the biggest impact of all first year players for the Falcons. He finished the year with 12 goals and 30 points. He played in all 28 games and the 30 points was not only the most by any first year player, but second of all players. He scored four power-play goals. He picked up his first collegiate point, an assist, in his second game, a 6-1 win over Eau Claire on Oct. 30. In his next game he scored his first goal of his career, in a 3-3 tie with Augsburg on Nov. 5. He ended the season strong scoring at least one point in five of the team's last six games. He had three three-point games. He scored a goal and had two assists in a 4-1 win at Stout, he had two goals and an assist in a 5-2 win over Stevens Point on Feb. 11, and three assists in a 5-2 win over Eau Claire on Feb. 12. He earned honorable mention to the All-WIAC team. Dahl was the leading scorer of first year players in the NCHA and he finished the season with eight multiple point games. He was named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll and to the Dean's List.
Personal: Dahl attended Apple Valley High School where he earned honorable mention to the all-conference team. He helped lead the team to an undefeated 23-win season. He lists his biggest high school hockey thrill as helping the team to a 25-1 record in 2002. He earned the school's Valley Pride Award. In 2003-04 at Des Moines of the USHL, Dahl scored 19 goals and added 20 assists. He also played for the Tri-City Storm where he was named the team's Most Improved Player. He is the son of Todd and Nancy and has two brothers. Dahl is majoring in finance.

Wade Harstad

Wade Harstad has had two consistently strong seasons for the Falcons scoring 11 points in 2005 and 2006. The forward has skills that can help the Falcons in both ends of the rink.
2005-06: Harstad played in every game for the Falcons and finished with seven goals and 11 points. He started the season strong scoring goals in each of the first two games. Harstad finished with two game-winning goals (vs. Lawrence and Marian). Three times during the season he scored in back-to-back contests.
2004-05: Harstad was a first year player who played an important role with the team. He played in 25 games and finished the season with five goals and 11 points. He scored two game-winning goals and one short-handed goal. He scored his first collegiate point in his first game. He picked up an assist in a 7-0 win over MSOE on Oct. 26. He scored his first collegiate goal in a 5-2 win over Hamline on Nov. 20. It was a short-handed goal. He finished the year with two multiple point games. He had two assists in the team's 5-1 win over Stout on Dec. 10 and two goals in a 5-2 win over Stevens Point on Feb. 11. He scored game-winning goals in a 4-2 win over St. Scholastica on Jan. 22 and the game vs. Stevens Point. He had one three game scoring streak when he had three goals and one assist.
Personal: Harstad attended Moorhead High School where he was named to the all-conference team. He helped lead the team to a second place finish in the Minnesota State Tournament. He lists his biggest high school hockey thrill as playing in the Minnesota State Tournament. Harstad scored 11 goals and dished out 17 assists in 2004 for St. Louis of the USHL. He is the son of Mark and Carla and has two brothers. Harstad is majoring in bio-medical science.

Jim Henkenmeyer

Jim Henkemeyer returns for his third season with the Falcons and will be one of the team's top players on defense in 2006-07.
2005-06: Henkemeyer had a breakthrough season for the Falcons and proved to be one of the most reliable players game-in-and-game-out on the blue line. He finished second in scoring among defensemen with six goals and 12 points. He finished with three power-play goals. He earned honorable mention to the All-WIAC team. He started the season strong with a goal and an assist in a 5-1 win over Eau Claire. He had three multiple point games and scored at least one points in three straight games early in the season. Henkemeyer finished with eight points at Hunt Arena (5-3) and four on the road (1-3). He had four power-play points (3-1) and UWRF was 6-0 when he scored a goal in a game.
2004-05: Henkemeyer proved to be a solid defenseman with good puck handling skills. In 13 games he finished with four assists. He scored his first collegiate point in his first game. He picked up an assist in a 7-0 win over MSOE on Oct. 26.
Personal: He earned all-conference honors as a defenseman at St. Cloud Apollo High School. He helped Bismarck of the NAHL win the Borne Cup. He is the son of Mike and Pat and has two sisters. Henkemeyer is majoring in marketing communications.

Jason Usher

Jason Usher returns for his third season with the Falcons. He gives the team outstanding play on the blue line.
2005-06: Usher missed nearly the entire first half of the season with an injury. He returned to the lineup and the Falcons were 12-6-1 in the last 19 games of the season with him in the lineup. He finished with one goal and six points in 19 games. Usher, one of the team’s assistant captains, had two multiple point games. He scored a goal and had an assist in a 5-3 win at St. Scholastica on Feb. 3 and he had two assists in a 5-1 win at Eau Claire on Jan. 20. He finished with two power-play points and scored two points at home and four on the road. Usher’s most productive period was the second with one goal and three points. He was named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll for the second time. Usher was named to the Dean’s List after the fall and spring semester.
2004-05: Usher played in all 28 games for the Falcons and finished with three goals and 15 total points. He scored two power-play goals and one game-winner. He started the season strong with five points in his first three games. In mid season he scored at least one point in four straight games. He scored his first collegiate goal in his first game, a 7-0 win over MSOE on Oct. 26. It was both a power-play goal and the game-winner. He scored his other power-play goal in a 6-2 win at Marian on Jan. 7. He was named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll and was named to the Dean's List in both the fall and spring semesters.
Personal: While playing for Fairbanks of the NAHL in 2004, Usher was named the team’s top defenseman and put up 24 points (7-17). He helped lead the team to the NAHL playoffs. At Eden Prairie High School he was the team's captain in 2002 and a Great 8 participant. He also played in the Minnesota State Tournament. He was the president of the Friends Forever Club - an organization that gathered handicapped students with the general student population. He earned a spot on the Academic Honor Roll and was named to the All-Academic team. Usher also played on the high school football team that won the Minnesota State Championship. He lists his biggest high school hockey thrill as playing in the Minnesota State High School hockey tournament. He is the son of Dave and Randi and has one sister. Usher is majoring in psychology and business administration.

Derek Hansberry

Derek Hansberry returns to the Falcons as a power forward. He has outstanding skills in all areas of the game and puts them to great use in both ends of the rink.
2005-06: Hansberry had one of the best freshman campaigns in school history. The first year player was named to the All-NCHA and All-WIAC first teams after finishing with 18 goals and 33 points. He was twice named the team’s Player of the Week (Dec. 5, Feb. 13). Hansberry was named the team’s Most Valuable Player – one of only a handful of Falcon players to earn that honor after a freshman season. He scored 11 power-play goals and finished tied for eighth in the NCAA Div. III. He led the Falcons in power-play points (11-11-22). He scored one short-handed goal (vs. Stout) and one game-winner (vs. Bethel). He finished tied for 28 th in the NCAA in goals per game (.67). Hansberry earned honorable mention to the USCHO.com team and was named to the site’s West Rookie team. UWRF had a 10-3-3 record when he scored a goal and his most productive period was the second (3-10-13). He tied for the team lead with nine multiple point games – he twice scored three points in a game – vs. Marian (1-2-3) and vs. Hamline (0-3-3). He had the longest scoring streak for the Falcons with at least one point in 12 straight games (Nov. 19 – Jan. 21). He was named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll and earned Dean’s List honors after the fall and spring semesters.
Personal: Hansberry played junior hockey at Wichita Falls of the NAHL. In 2005 he played 50 games and scored 16 goals and 33 points. He was the team's Unsung Hero Award winner in 2004 and was an alternate captain. In 2005 he was an alternate captain and earned honorable mention for the team's Player of the Week award. He lists his biggest junior hockey thrill as scoring two short-handed goals in the first round of the league playoffs against Texas. He is the son of Jeannette and Brian and has one brother and one sister. Hansberry is majoring in business administration.

Lance Malark

Lance Malark returns for his second season with the Falcons. He plays forward.
2005-06: Malark had an impact in his first season playing in 19 games and recording seven assists. He recorded an assist in his first collegiate game, a 5-1 win over Eau Claire on Oct. 28. He picked up two more assists in his second game, an 8-0 win over Lawrence. Malark scored five points at home and two on the road. He recorded three points in both first and third periods of games. He was named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll.
Personal: Malark played junior hockey at Fargo-Moorhead of the NAHL and helped that team to a second place finish in the National Tournament. He played in 46 games and scored 18 goals and finished with 40 points. He also played at White Bear Lake High School where he was named to the all-conference team in for four seasons. He was named to the All-State team in 2003. He was the Bears' Rookie of the Year in 2000. He is the son of Cheryl and Andrew and has one sister. Malark is undecided on a major field of study.

Josh Meyers

Josh Meyers

Josh Meyers returns to the Falcons for his second season on the blue line. He gained valuable experience last year and will once again play several minutes a game in 2006-07.
2005-06: Meyers played in 18 games and even though he did not score, he proved his value with solid play in both ends of the rink. He earned his first letter for the Falcons.
Personal: Meyers played junior hockey at Bozeman of the NAHL. In 2005 he played in 41 games and finished with two goals and nine points. He won the team’s Best Defenseman award. At International Falls High School he was twice named to the all-conference team and twice won the defenseman Best Plus/Minus award. He earned a spot on the A Honor Roll. Meyers lists his biggest high school hockey thrill as playing in the Minnesota State Tournament. He is the son of Tina and Kelly and has one sister. Meyers is majoring in conservation.

Dustin Norman

Dustin Norman returns for his second season with the Falcons. The talented forward has outstanding skills and he uses them well in all zones.
2005-06: Norman’s first year was cut short when a leg injury kept him out of the team’s last seven games of the season. But he was having a great season to that point and finished the year with six goals and 17 points. He scored three power-play goals and two game-winners. Norman was named the team’s and WIAC’s Player of the Week on Jan. 10. He had three multiple point games including four assists in a 6-2 win over Marian on Jan. 6. The four assists tied him for ninth in the NCAA in assists in a single game. Twice he scored at least a point in four straight games. Norman had nine power-play points and UWRF was 5-0-0 when he scored a goal. He scored 11 points (5-6) at home and six (1-5) in road games. His most productive periods were the second (3-4-7) and third (2-5-7).
Personal: Norman played junior hockey at Neepawa in the MJHL. He was twice named the team's Most Valuable Player. He was the leading scorer among first year players in the league with 43 goals and 87 points. He was named the team's Rookie of the Year. In 2005 he scored 36 goals and 73 total points in 55 games. Norman was twice named to the league's All-Star team. He is the son of Carla and Wayne and has one sister. Norman is majoring in business management.

Christopher Robinson

Chris Robinson is back for his second season with the Falcons. The defenseman has solid skills and will once again be a mainstay on the blue line for the Falcons in 2006-07.
2005-06: Robinson started all 27 games for the Falcons. He did not register a point, but made solid improvements throughout the course of the season. He sees the ice well and helped the Falcons break the puck out of the defensive zone with his crisp passes. Using his speed, he was dragged down from behind and awarded a penalty shot in the team’s game vs. Superior on Dec. 10. He was named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll and earned Dean’s List honors after the spring semester.
Personal: Robinson played junior hockey at Lincoln in the USHL last year. In 2005 he played in 46 games and scored one goal and finished with two points. Before that he was a captain at Danville, a team also in the USHL. He is the son of Robin and Ron and has two brothers and two sisters. Robinson is majoring in business management.

2005-06: Szypura got some valuable playing time in seven games for the Falcons. He earned his first letter. He picked up his first collegiate point in his first collegiate game, a 5-1 win over Eau Claire on Oct. 28.
Personal: Szypura played juniors at Springfield of the NAHL and earned the team’s Hardest Shot award. In 44 games in 2005 he scored four goals and finished with 13 points. He also played at Texarkana during the 2003-04 season. He lists his biggest junior hockey thrill as competing in the league playoffs while at Texarkana in the 2003-04 season. He is the son of Lori and Bill and has two sisters. Szypura is majoring in health & human performance.

Devin Underwood

Devin Underwood starts his second season with the Falcons. He plays forward.
2005-06: Underwood played in 14 games and finished the season with two assists. His first collegiate point came in a 4-1 win over Stevens Point on Jan. 21. His other assist was in a 4-3 win over Lake Forest on Jan. 28. He played in each of the team’s final 14 games of the season. An outstanding student, Underwood earned a spot on the NCHA All-Academic team and he was named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll. He earned Dean’s List honors after the spring semester.
Personal: Underwood played junior hockey at Helena and was the team's captain. He was named the team's Most Improved Player in his rookie season. He earned the team's Hitman and Most Inspiration awards for three straight years. He lists his biggest junior hockey thrill as scoring a hat trick, with a game-winning goal, in the league playoffs. He is the son of Rachel and Darrell and has one brother and one sister. Underwood is majoring in physics and math.

While with the Kings, Baldwin made the MJHL All-Star team twice (2004, 2005), led the team in scoring (2004), and earned the Hardest Working Player award twice (2003, 2004). He attended St. Pierre High School and lists his biggest hockey thrill as winning the AAA Midget Championship with the Eastman Selects. He is the son of Doug and Debbie and has one sister. Baldwin is majoring in business administration.

Skylar Christoffersen is in his first year with the Falcons in 2006-07 and plays forward. He played junior hockey with the Southeast Blades of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. Christoffersen made the MJHL All-Star team in 2006. His biggest hockey thrill was playing in the MJHL All-Star game. He attended Brookswood Secondary High School. He is the son of Jim and Marian and has three sisters. Christoffersen is majoring in business administration.

Carver Dowhan is playing his first season with the Falcons in 2006-07 and plays forward. He played junior hockey at Swan Valley of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. While with the Stampeders, Dowhan earned the MJHL All-Star game Most Valuable Player award, the team’s Unsung Hero award, and Play-off Most Valuable Player award. He attended Selkirk High School. He is the son of Steve and Sandie and has one brother. Dowhan is undecided on a major field of study.

Tom Flikeid is in his first season with the Falcons in 2006-07 and plays forward. He played junior hockey at Alberni Valley of the British Columbia Hockey League where his was named the Bulldog’s Unsung Hero. He attended Lakeville High School and lists his biggest hockey thrill as playing in the Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament. Flikeid was named to the all-conference team, named Lakeville’s Most Valuable Player and Offensive Player of the Year. He is the son of Bill and Patti and has one brother. Flikeid is undecided on a major field of study.


Jim Jensen

Jim Jensen joins the Falcons for his second year of college hockey. He transfers to UWRF from UM-Duluth and plays defense. He played at Waterloo of the USHL where he was the team captain in the 2004-05 season after serving as an assistant captain in the 2002-03 campaign. He earned honorable mention to the all-conference hockey team at Hill-Murray High School. He also earned letters in football and track & field. He lists his biggest high school hockey thrill as beating White Bear Lake in front of a packed house at the State Fairgrounds coliseum to qualify for the Minnesota State tournament. He is the son of Dianne and Jim and has two brothers. Jensen is majoring in journalism.


Mitch Kerns

Mitch Kerns joins the Falcons for his first year of collegiate hockey and will play forward for the 2006-07 Falcons. He played at both Omaha of the USHL and Billings of the NAHL. At Bills he led the team in goals in 2005-06. At Stoughton High School he was named to the All-State team three times and was his team’s Most Valuable Player twice. He led the team in points was named to the first all-conference team three times. He lists his biggest junior hockey thrills as traveling to Alaska and other states and meeting new people. He is the son of Kathy and Richard and has two brothers and three sisters. Kerns is undecided on a major field of study.

Jordan McIntyre is in his first year of collegiate hockey with the Falcons in 2006-07 and plays forward. He played junior hockey at Portage of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League where the Terriers won the Anevet Cup and the Turnbull Cup. McIntyre was named Most Valuable Player of the Anevet Cup. His biggest junior hockey thrill was winning the Anevet Cup and playing in the Royal Bank Cup. He played at Grand Forks Central High School and was named to the all-conference and all-state teams. McIntyre was also named North Dakota’s 2004 Mr. Hockey. He is the son of Larry and Patty and has two sisters. McIntyre is undecided on a major field of study.

Matt Page is in his first year of college hockey and will play goalie for the Falcons in 2006-07. At New Richmond High School he was named to the Wisconsin All-State team for three straight seasons. As a sophomore he was named to the All-Tournament team after helping the Tigers to a runner-up finish in the WIAA Tournament. Page was named to the all-conference team three times. He lists his biggest high school hockey thrill as playing in the state championship game. He is the son of Annette and Kelly Erickson and has one brother and one sister. Page is majoring in business administration.

Sean Pettinger is a defenseman who is in his first season with the Falcons. At Swan Valley he was named he team’s Most Improved player in 2002-03, the Unsung Hero award winner in 2003-04 and the Top Defenseman in 2005-06. He played in the 2005-06 Manitoba Junior Hockey League All-Star game. He graduated with academic distinction honors from Souris Collegiate in 2003. He lists his biggest junior hockey thrill as beating Neepawa in the first round of the MJHL playoffs in 2004. He is the son of Dorothy and Rick and has three brothers. Pettinger is undecided on a major field of study.


Tony Stoehr

Tony Stoehr joins the Falcons for his first season of collegiate hockey and plays goalie. At Michigan in the North Ontario Junior Hockey league he was the team’s Most Valuable Player, he was named to the first All-Star team and was named the league’s Most Valuable Player. At DePere High School he was the team’s and conference’s Most Valuable Player. Stoehr was named to the all-conference team and helped his team to the Chicago Showcase championships. He was named to the academic honor roll four times. He lists his biggest junior hockey thrill as winning Game 6 in three overtimes to advance to the playoff final series. Stoehr is the son of Stephanie and Patrick and he has one brother. He is majoring in broad field social studies.


Jeff Stone

Jeff Stone is in his first year with the Falcons and plays defense. He played junior hockey at both Billings in the NAHL and Sioux Falls in the USHL. He was an assistant captain and was named the team’s Most Valuable Defenseman at Sioux Falls. At Forest Lake High School he was named to the all-conference team, was the team’s captain and was named the team’s Most Valuable Defensive Player. He was named to the academic honor roll for three years. He lists his biggest junior hockey thrills as playing in front of 5,500 fans and advancing to the division playoff championships. He is the son of Kathy and Bob and he has two sisters. Stone is majoring in business administration.

T.J. Warkentin is in his first season of college hockey and will play forward for the 2006-07 Falcons. He played at Dauphin of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League where he played in the 2006 league All-Star game. He was named the team’s Most Inspirational Player in 2004 and 2006. He tied for the team lead in scoring (with Falcon Cory Baldwin) in 2005 when he was also named the team’s Best Defensive Player. In 2004 Warkentin was named the team’s Most Valuable and Most Popular player. He lists his biggest junior hockey thrills as playing five seasons at Dauphin, help the team win the regular season championship in 2006 and being captain of that team. He is the son of Audrey and Ron and has one brother and two sisters. Warkentin is majoring in agriculture.
