Five members of the Falcon men's hockey team have been named to 2007 NCHA All-Academic team. Forwards Joe Adams (Jr., Roseau, Minn.), TJ Dahl (Jr., Burnsville, Minn.), Derek Hansberry (So., Arvada, Col.) and Devin Underwood (So., Wasilla, Alaska) and defenseman Jason Usher (Jr., Eden Prairie, Minn.) were all recognized for their work in the class room. Adams, who missed several games early in the season with an injury, played in eight games. He has scored five goals and seven points in his career. He is majoring in elementary education. Dahl, who was named the NCHA 2007 Player of the Year and to the 2007 and 2006 first teams, led the NCHA in scoring with 47 points. He scored 11 goals and a league-leading 36 assists. He has scored seven power-play goals and four game-winners. He broke the 100-career point mark during the season and currently has scored 32 goals, 75 assists for 107 career points. Dahl has scored at least one point in 24 of the team's 25 regular season games. He scored two goals and two assists in the team's 10-2 win over St. Mary's on Dec. 12. The Falcons are 9-0 this year when he scores a goal. He has had 16 multiple point games and has had 34 career multiple point games. He has been named the team's Player of the Week twice. He has 19 power-play points, second on the team. He is majoring in finance. Hansberry, who was named to the 2007 and 2006 All-NCHA first teams, led the Falcons with 20 goals and is second in the team in points with 33. He led the team with nine power-play goals and five game-winning goals. Hansberry has 37 career goals and 66 career points. He has had nine multiple point games this year and he has had 19 career multiple point games. He scored two goals and five points in the team's 10-2 win over St. Mary's on Dec. 12. Hansberry has twice been named the team's Player of the Week. He is third on the team in power-play points (9-5-14). The Falcons are 11-1-1 when he scores a goal. He has three multiple point games this year and seven in his career. He is majoring in business administration. Underwood, who was named to the 2006 NCHA All-Academic team, has played in 12 games and has one assist. He has three career assists. Underwood is majoring in physics and math. Usher has played in 13 games and has scored one goal and three points. He has one power-play goal. He has scored five goals and 24 career points. Usher is majoring in psychology and business administration. To be named to the team a player must have a cummulative 3.00 grade point average, have earned at least 50 semester or 75 quarter hours, and be recommened by his head coach. The Falcons won the NCHA regular season championship and finished with a 19-4-2 overall record. They were 10-3-1 in NCHA play. |
