Kevin Bullis
Defensive Coordinator


Kevin Bullis is entering his 11th year with the Falcons as the club's defensive coordinator. He has helped the Falcons become one of the top defensive teams in the WIAC. His main responsibility is with the defensive linemen.

Bullis came back to UW-River Falls after a two-year stint at Gustavus Adolphus, Minn., College where he was the defensive coordinator in 1993-94.

Before that, Bullis was a graduate assistant with the Falcons from 1990-92 when he coached the linebackers.

He played intercollegiate ball at UM-Morris in the mid 1980s. While he played under UW-RF graduate Stan Zweifel, he was a four-year contributor and earned All-Conference honors in 1987. Following graduation, Bullis stayed at Morris and coached the linebackers in 1988 and 1989.
Bullis, who is also the UW-RF equipment manager and teaches in the health & human performance department, earned his undergraduate degree from Morris in 1988 in social science and history and then earned a master's degree at UWRF in history in 1993.

He and wife Kathy, also a UW-RF alum who played volleyball for the Falcons, have two sons, Jack, 11, and Joe, 9, and one daughter, Emme, 3.

Andy Kotelnicki
Defensive Backs, Special Teams


Former Falcon football player, Andy Kotelnicki, is in his first year as an assistant football coach at UW-River Falls.

Kotelnicki coaches defensive backs and special teams. He also works as the University's strength and conditioning coach and lecture in the health & human performance department.

For the past two years he has been an assistant football coach at Western Illinois University. In the 2005 season he coached tight ends, in an offense that averaged 32 points per game. He also worked with the special teams. In 2004 he worked with the WIU offensive line. During his years with the Leathernecks he worked as an assistant strength and conditioning coach.

He was a starting center for the Falcon football team in 2001, 2002 and 2003. He was nominated as a team captain in his senior season.

He is a member of the American Football Coaches Association and the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Kotelnicki, a Litchfield, Minn., native, earned his undergraduate degree from UW-RF in health & human performance in 2004. He earned his master's degree in kinesiology from Western Illinois and is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist.

Kotelnicki's wife's name is Lindsey (Oberg), who was a tennis player and captain of the Falcon tennis team. She earned her degree in finance from the University in 2002. They reside in River Falls.
