Martha Brennan is in her third season as the head men's and women's track and field coach at UW-River Falls. She looks forward to continued improvements and success for both programs in the up-coming season. Prior to her arrival at UW-River Falls, Brennan worked as an assistant track & field coach at Texas A&M. She coached men and women in the heptathlon, decathlon and pole vault. She had several NCAA qualifiers and coached the Big XII Conference women's pole vault champion in 2002. She also served as the camp director and the high school coaches' clinic director. Before going to Texas A&M, she coached at the University of Iowa and at Louisiana State University as a graduate assistant. At Iowa she was responsible for the women jumpers, throwers and multi-event athletes. She also coached a women's 400-meter hurdler All-American. She also was the team's strength and conditioning coordinator. At LSU she worked in the athletic department compliance and marketing departments and with the senior women's administrator. She also assisted with ticket office and event management operations. In 1997 Brennan was a member of the USA National tack & field team and competed in the Olympic Trials in 1996 as a heptathlete. She was a member of the 1994 and 1995 NCAA National Championship winning teams at LSU. She was a five-time All-American while competing at the University of South Dakota (1991-93). |
