At Iowa she was responsible for the women jumpers, throwers and multi-event athletes. She also coached a women's 400-meter hurdler All-American. She also was the team's strength and conditioning coordinator. At LSU she worked in the athletic department compliance and marketing departments and with the senior women's administrator. She also assisted with ticket office and event management operations.

In 1997 Brennan was a member of the USA National tack & field team and competed in the Olympic Trials in 1996 as a heptathlete. She was a member of the 1994 and 1995 NCAA National Championship winning teams at LSU. She was a five-time All-American while competing at the University of South Dakota (1991-93).
