University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh will look to defend its women's outdoor track and field crown at the 2007 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) championship, which will be held at UW-River Falls' Ramer Field Sports Complex on May 4-5.

The Titans have won two of the last three conference titles and are the defending NCAA Division III national champions.

UW-La Crosse has won a league-best 22 crowns, including seven of the last nine championships, and should contend for the top spot at this year's meet.

UW-Stevens Point is the only league opponent to win a conference championship other than the Titans and Eagles, claiming the 1976 trophy.

UW-Platteville junior Marcia Taddy is a two-time Track Performer of the Meet at the league championship after winning the 800-meter run and 1,500-meter run titles the last two seasons. She set a conference meet record in the 1,500-meter run with a performance of 4:29.77 last year. Taddy boasts the fastest time in the NCAA Division III in the 1,500-meter run, while placing second nationally in the 800-meter run.

UW-Oshkosh senior Nadine Pieske won the 200-meter dash for the second straight year last season and claimed the top spot in the 400-meter dash. Her time of 55.45 in the 400-meter dash established a conference meet record.   In the 200-meter dash, Pieske owns the seventh-fastest time in the country and is ninth in the 400-meter event.

UW-Eau Claire junior Molly Warner won the 10,000-meter run title, while Blugold senior Liz Faller secured the 100-meter high hurdles crown and has the third-best time in the country.

UW-River Falls senior Shannon Zweifel claimed the 400-meter intermediate hurdles a year ago, while senior Jill Crandall secured the heptathlon in 2005.   Crandall boasts the top performance in the nation in the heptathlon and is sixth in the high jump, while Zweifel ranks eighth in the 400-meter intermediate hurdles.

UW-La Crosse senior Jena Durnin was victorious in the 100-meter dash and UW-Whitewater senior Mollie Zirbel won the javelin. Durnin owns the third-best time in the country in the 100-meter dash and ranks seventh in the long jump.

UW-La Crosse has won three straight, and nine of the last 10, 4x100-meter relay events, while also securing nine of the last 10 4x400-meter relay crowns.   UW-Platteville has captured back-to-back 4x800-meter relay championships.
