Holly Kromray (Jr., Minocqua, Wis. Lakeland Union HS) had her best jump of the season at the Macalester Invitational held on Saturday. Her leap of 11-0 1/4 was also a personal record in the pole vault her effort was good enough for a fourth place finish in the event.

Krista Hasselquist (So., Osceola, Wis.) set a school record in the shot put at the Manitou Classic held Saturday at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn. She placed first in the event with a throw of 44-6. That mark is a NCAA Div. III meet provisional qualifying standard. She broke the Falcon record which was held by Steph Dura of 44-1 1/4 set in 2004. She also placed fourth in the discus with a throw of 128-7 and sixth in the hammer with a throw of 138-1.

Shannon Zweifel (So., Whitewater, Wis.)
had an excellent meet at the UW-Eau Claire Blugold Open on Friday.   Zweifel won the 400-meter hurdles, and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Div. III National Meet, with a time of 63.18.

Vicki Cooper (So., DeForest, Wis.) and Krista Hasselquist (So., Osceola, Wis.) had very good performances at the Blugold Open at UW-Eau Claire on Friday.   Cooper finished third in the discus, and had a personal best, and reached a NCAA Div. III provisional qualifying mark with a throw of 140-7. Hasselquist won the shot put, and also recorded a personal best, and a NCAA provisional qualifying mark with her throw of 43-11 3/4.

Vicki Cooper (So., DeForest, Wis.) was very busy competing in four field events at the Falcon Invitational held last weekend at the Ramer Field Sports Complex. She won the hammer throw with a toss of 143-8. She took second in the javelin with a throw of 106-10 and second in the discus with a throw of 129-4. Cooper also placed third in the shot put with a toss of 39-1 1/4.

Brittany Smith (So., Preston, Minn. Fillmore Central HS) had another outstanding performance in the St. Olaf Open on Friday. She provisionally qualified for the NCAA Div. III National meet in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.72, which was good enough for fifth place. She also took second in a personal best time in the 200 finishing in 26.81.

Kim Altenhofen (Fr., Marathon, Wis.) had a personal best at the Blue Devil Open held Saturday at UW-Stout. She finished ninth in the weight throw with a toss of 36-0 3/4 and she placed seventh in the shot put with a toss of 37-2 1/2.

Sara Rudesill (Sr., River Falls, Wis.) had a strong race in the 800-meters in the Coca Cola Classic held Saturday at the Knowles Building. She finished second in the race in 2:24.4. "Sara ran a strong 800," Coach Martha Brennan said. "She is one of our seniors and she's getting better every week."

Krista Hasselquist (So., Osceola, Wis.) had a very good showing at the MSU-Mankato Open.   Hasselquist took second in the weight throw with a toss of 49-5. 3/4. Her throw was also good enough to make her a provisional qualifier for the NCAA Championships. She also placed forth in the shot put with a throw of 41-10.

Brittany Smith (Preston, Minn. Fillmore Central HS)
had three outstanding efforts for the Falcons at the Stout Open held Saturday in Menomonie. She won the 55 hurdles in 8.75 and placed fourth in the 200 in 27.7. She also played sixth in the long jump with a leap of 16-4 1/4.

Krista Hasselquist (So., Osceola, Wis.) won the shot put and weight throw at the UWRF All-Comers meet held Saturday at the Knowles Building. It was the team's first meet of the season. She threw the shot 43-1, which is a NCAA Div. III provisional qualifying throw. She won the weight throw with a toss of 47-0 1/4.
