Falcon Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week

Marlene Yaeger (Sr., Medina, Minn. Wayzata HS) beat everyone to the finish line on Saturday at the Fall Freeze at Nemadji Golf Course in Superior. She won the 6,000-meter race with a time of 23:02. That beat her best time of the season by 33 seconds. Her time was also the forth fastest in school history. "She worked hard over the summer," Falcon Coach Don Glover said about the senior. "She always is working hard."

Jessica Hurlbut (Fr., Alexandria, Minn.) had one of her best races of the season at the Blugold Open held on Friday. Hurlbut ran the 6,000-meter race and finished with a time of 25:30.   She placed 72 nd overall and was the fifth Falcon to cross the finish line. Her improvement has caught the attention of Falcon Coach Don Glover. "She's showed such great improvement throughout the year," said Glover. "She's just getting better and better every meet."

Amanda Kozicky (Jr., Chaska, Minn.) was the second Falcon runner to cross the finish line at the Roy Griak Invitational held Saturday at the University of Minnesota Les Bolstad Golf Course. She finished 42 nd overall with a time of 24:28 over the 6,000-meter course. She improved 32 seconds from her time at the Griak last year.   "She ran a pretty tough race through the rain and everything," Falcon Coach Don Glover said about her performance. "She improved quite a bit."

Marlene Yaeger (Sr.,   Medina, Minn. Wayzata HS) had a nice showing in the women's 6,000-meter race at the St. Olaf Invitational on Saturday. She placed seventh overall and was the Falcons top runner. Her time of 23:35 was the best time this year for the Falcons. It was her first race of the season.

Maria Michaud (So., Foley, Minn.) was the top runner for the women at the UW-River Falls Invitational held Saturday. She placed fifth with a time of 25:11 over the 6,000-meter course. "Maria had a strong race," said Falcon Coach Don Glover. "She was out No. 2 runner this year and she's looking to be No. 1 this year."
