Falcon volleyball players Andrea Geehan (Jr., St. Paul, Minn. Como Park HS), Kat Krtnick (Jr., Fridley, Minn.) and Kate Thompson (Jr., Forest Lake, Minn.) have all been named to 2005 All-WIAC teams.

Geehan and Krtnick were both named to the first team and Thompson earned honorable mention.

Geehan, a middle hitter who earned honorable mention to the 2004 team, led the Falcons with 467 kills and a .300 hitting percentage. She also led the team with 29 solo and 104 total blocks. She averaged 3.77 kills per game. She had 14 assists, 26 aces and 118 digs. She was named the team's Player of the Week three times during the season (Sept. 26, Oct. 3, Oct. 10) and was named the WIAC Player of the Week on Oct. 10. Geehan played in every game (124) for the Falcons. She had a season high 29 kills in a match against Coe on Oct. 8. She had double digit kills in 26 of the team's 35 matches. She had a stretch where she had double digit in kills in 18 straight matches. She had a season high two solo and six block assists against Clarke on Oct. 8.

Krtnick, a setter and outside hitter who earned honorable mention to the 2004 team, led the Falcons with 1,067 assists. She averaged 8.6 per game. She also had 178 kills and a .183 hitting percentage. Krtnick was second in aces (50) and digs (396). She finished with four solo and 33 total blocks. She was named the team's Player of the Week three times during the season (Sept. 6, Sept. 20, Oct. 24). Krtnick played in every game (124) for the Falcons. She had a season high 56 assists against St. Thomas on Oct. 29. She had a season high 14 kills against Oshkosh on Sept. 3. Krtnick had a season high 11 aces against Edgewood on Oct. 21 and a season high 24 digs against Millikin on Sept. 10.

Thompson, an outside hitter who earned honorable mention to the 2004 team, was second on the team in kills with 453. She averaged 3.74 per game. She had a .210 hitting percentage. She led the Falcons in aces (53) and had 20 assists. She was third in digs (391) and third in blocks with 13 solo and 52 total. Thompson was named the team's Player of the Week three times during the season (Sept. 12, Oct. 17, Oct. 31). She played in 121 games. Thompson had a season high 22 kills against St. Thomas on Oct. 29. She had seven aces against Coe on Oct. 8 and three times had 22 digs. She had double digit kills in 28 matches and double digit digs in 21 of the team's 35 matches. Twice she had five blocks in a match.

UWRF finished the 2005 season with 2-6 WIAC and 17-18 overall records.
