Falcon volleyball player Andrea Geehan (Jr., St. Paul, Minn. Como Park HS) earned honorable mention to the 2005 AVCA All-Midwest Region team. Geehan, a middle hitter who earlier this year was named to the first All-WIAC team, led the Falcons with 467 kills and a .300 hitting percentage. She also led the team with 29 solo and 104 total blocks. She averaged 3.77 kills per game. She had 14 assists, 26 aces and 118 digs. She was named the team's Player of the Week three times during the season (Sept. 26, Oct. 3, Oct. 10) and was named the WIAC Player of the Week on Oct. 10. Geehan played in every game (124) for the Falcons. She had a season high 29 kills in a match against Coe on Oct. 8. She had double digit kills in 26 of the team's 35 matches. She had a stretch where she had double digit in kills in 18 straight matches. She had a season high two solo and six block assists against Clarke on Oct. 8. UWRF finished the 2005 season with 2-6 WIAC and 17-18 overall records. |
