Women
Marissa Merchant (So., Farmington, Minn.) helped the Falcons to a 121-67 win over St. Mary's on Saturday at the River Falls High School pool. She placed third in the 100 breaststroke in 1:12.76 and fifth in the 100 free in 1:04.1. Her time in the breaststroke event was her best of the season and it was the first time that she swam the 100 free in a meet. She was also a member of the 200-medley relay that placed first in 2:01.39.

Men
Tom Fritchen (So., Racine, Wis. Park HS) helped the Falcons to a 94-55 win over St. Mary's on Saturday at the River Falls High School pool. He won the 1,000 free in a time of 11:58.75 and the 500 free in 5:39.82. His time in the 1,000 was his best effort of the season and his time in the 500 was his second fastest of the season. He was also a member of the 200 free relay team that won in 1:38.73.

Women
Tia Felts (So., Shawano, Wis.) had a big role for the Falcon women in their past two meets.   Against St. Thomas, Felts swam on the 400-medley relay team (4:36.23) that placed third, took sixth in the 200 IM (2:38.14), and fifth in the 100 backstroke (1:11.74). At the St. Catherine Invitational, she placed fifth in the 400 IM (5:47.21), 12th in the 100 backstroke (1:12.09), and sixth in the 200 backstroke (2:33.81).

Men
Erick Dornseif (Fr., Shoreview, Minn. Mounds View HS) had a good performance in a Falcons meet against St. Thomas and in the St. Catherine Invitational. At home against St. Thomas, Dornseif took fourth in the 200 freestyle (2:10.02), sixth in the 100 backstroke (1:08.73), and was part of a fourth place finishing 400-medley relay team (4:34.56). At St. Catherine, he placed fourth in the 500 freestyle (6:05.12), eighth in the 100 backstroke (1:09.63), and fifth in the 200 backstroke (2:32.83).

Women
Sara Cannady (Fr., Minneapolis, Mn. Jefferson HS) and Ashley Swenty (Fr., Tomahawk, Wis.) both performed well in meets against Hamline and Augsburg last weekend.   Against Hamline, Cannady won the 200 IM in 2:26.06 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:13.13. She was also a member of the 200 free relay team that won in 1:45.74. Against Augsburg she finished first in the 200 free in 2:11.1, and second in the 100 back in 1:11.4. She was also a member of the 200 free relay team that finished in 1:56.1. Against Hamline, Swenty placed third in the 50 free in 27.46 and third in the 100 free in 58.8. She was also a member of the 200 free relay team that finished in 1:55.43. Against Augsburg she finished third in the 200 free in 2:17.7and finished the 500 free in 6:22.8. She was also a member of the 200 medley relay team that placed first in 2:06.1.

Men
Matt Banz (Fr., St. Paul, Minn. Eagan HS) and Erick Dornseif (Fr., Shoreview, MN Mounds View HS) both had strong meets for the Falcons against Hamline on Friday at the River Falls High School pool. Banz won the 200 free in 1:56.36, placed second in the 100 free in 51.6 and was a member of the 200-medley relay team that finished second in 1:51.6. Dornseif placed fifth in the 200 free in 2:15.24, fifth in the 200 IM in 2:38.16 and fifth in the 100 back in 1:12.56.

Women
Tia Felts (So., Shawano, Wis.) swam a solid meet for the Falcons at the Lawrence Invitational on Friday and Saturday where the Falcons placed sixth. On Friday, she swam the 200-yard back and took 15 th place in 2:34.96. Saturday she swam the 100-yard back in 1:11.36 and placed 19 th . She also finished 19 th in the 100-yard IM in 2:38.8.

Men
Mikhael Keyser (So., Lake Placid, Fla.) had an awesome meet at the Lawrence Invitational on Friday and Saturday where the Falcons placed sixth. He swam the 200-yard back and finished ninth in 2:15.25 on Friday. On Saturday he placed 17 th in the 50-yard free in 24.41. In the 100 yard back he finished 12th with a time of 1:02.76.

Women
Rachel Westlund (Fr., Belevue, Wis. Flambeau HS) had some solid swims for the Falcons at the WIAC Relays held on Saturday at La Crosse. She swam on the 1500   free relay team that took sixth place in 18:28.29. She also swam with the 300 individual medley relay that took sixth in 3:34.72. " Rachael turned in some outstanding times at the relay meet," said Faclon Coach Bill Henderson.

Men
Tom Fritchen (Fr., Racine, Wis. Park HS) kept plenty busy at the WIAC Relays held Saturday in La Crosse. "Tom was our iron man this weekend swimming the 500 twice and the 100 back in relays," Falcon Coach Bill Henderson said. He swam with the 850 crescendo relay, and his team finished fifth in 9:00.63. He also swam on the 300 backstroke relay team that placed sixth (3:20.49) and on the 1500 free relay team that placed fifth (17:20.42).

Women
April Sandeberg (Fr., Burnsville, Minn.) swam one of her best meets of the season on S aturday at Macalaster College. She finished first in the 400-meter freestyle in 5:09.98.   She also swam the third leg with the 400-meter medley relay team that place first in 4:59.2.

Men
Matt Banz (Fr., St. Paul, Minn. Eagan HS) excelled for the Falcons at their meet at Macalaster on Saturday. He swam on the third leg with the 400-meter medley relay team that place first in 4:50.4.   He took second place in the 50-meter free (25.79) and the 100-meter free (57.17).

Women
Sara Cannady (Fr., Minneapolis, Minn. Jefferson HS) and Danielle Mandich (Fr., Bloomington, Minn. Jefferson) both had excellent meets to help the Falcons start the 2005-06 season. On Friday Cannady won the 200 IM in 2:23.66 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:12.24. Mandich won the 100 free in 56.69 and the 50 free in 25.52. They also swam on the 200 free relay team that placed second in 1:46.59. At the Midwest Coed Meet they swam on the same 400 free relay team that placed fourth in 3:44.05.

Men
Matt Banz (Fr., St. Paul, Minn. Eagan HS) and Ryan Smaagard (Sr., White Bear Lake, Minn.) both helped lead the Falcons at the team's opening meets of the 2005-06 season last weekend. On Friday Banz won the 100 fly in 56.79. Smaagard won the 200 IM in 2:16.04. They also swam on the 200 free relay team that placed first in 1:34.29 and the 200 medley relay that placed first in 1:47.52. At the Midwest Coed meet they swam the 400 free relay and the team placed fourth in 3:44.05 and the 200 free relay that finished second in 1:39.46.
