Sara Cannady
5-2, Freshman,
Minneapolis, Minn.
Jefferson High School

Sarah Cannady joins the Falcons as a first year swimmer for the Falcons in 2005-06. At Jefferson High School Cannady broke a 20-year-old school record. She went to state in three events her senior year. She is the daughter of Rick and Marie Cannady. Her major is communicative disorders.

Nyssa Crane joins the Falcons as a freshman swimmer in 2005-06. She attended Valders High School. Her favorite events are the 100-meter breaststroke and 50 and 100 free styles. She is the daughter of Glenn Crane and Michelle Jaeger. Her major is pre-veterinary medicine.

Ashley Crunstedt

Burnsville High School

Ashley Crunstedt returns to the Falcons for her senior year in 2005-06. She is one of the team's captains. In the 2004-05 season she competed in the 100 and 200 meter fly events, as well as the 200-meter backstroke and 200-meter medley. She is the daughter of Bob and Colleen Crunstedt. Her major is communications and journalism.

Jennifer Davis joins the Falcons as a first year swimmer in 2005-06. Davis was all-conference honorable mention once and first team all-conference once at Appleton North High School. She is the daughter of Jane Devries. Her major is pre-veterinary medicine.

Tia Felts joins the Falcons for her first season of collegiate swimming in 2005-06. Felts was the captain of the team in her junior and senior years of high school and was voted 2004 Bay Conference Senior Swimmer of the Year. She attended Shawano High School. She is the daughter of Richard and Judy Felts. Her major is biology.

Danielle Mandich joins the Falcons for her freshman season in 2005-06. She attended Bloomington Jefferson High School and went to state in her final three years. She finished first in her section in the 50 freestyle as a senior. She is the daughter of Caroline and Dan Mandich. Her major is elementary education.

Marissa Merchant is in her second season with the Falcons in 2005-06. She is one of the team's captains. She has the school's sixth fastest time in the 100 breaststroke (1:13.88) that she set last year. Her major is secondary education.

Amanda Spangberg returns to the Falcons for her sophomore season in 2005-06. She attended Portage High School. She is the daughter of Anne Marie Crawley and Jim Spangberg. Her major is health and human performance.

Ashley Swenty joins the Falcons for her freshman season in 2005-06. She competed in the state meet all four years at Tomahawk High School. She finished second at state her junior year and was a captain her junior and senior year. She is the daughter of Ann and Scott Swenty. Her major is dairy science.

Matt Banz is in his first year with the Falcons in 2005. He was named to the Minnesota All-State team while competing at Eagan High School. He was a sectional finalist four times and earned honorable mention to the all-conference team three times. His favorite events are the 50 and 100 freestyles and the 100 fly. He is the son of Rich and Julie Banz. He is majoring in chemistry.

Brandon Blaisdell returns to the Falcons in his sophomore season as the only diver on the squad this season. He scored on both boards at last year's WIAC meet and was a finalist on the three meter board. His major is pre-dental studies.

Michael Brudzinski is in his first year with the Falcons. At the sectional meet, he placed sixth in the 100 breaststroke and eighth in the 200 IM at Tartan High School. His favorite events are the 100 breaststroke, 200 and 400 IM and 500 freestyle. He is the son of Paul and Dawn Brudzinski. Brudzinski is majoring in math education.

Erick Dornseif joins the Falcons for his firs year of collegiate swimming. He competed with the North Suburban Aquatic Club team and at Mounds View High School. His favorite evens are all relays, the 50 and 100 freestyle events and the 100 backstroke. He is the son of Jim and Teresa. Dornseif is majoring in art education.

Eli Eschenbauch returns to the Falcons for his senior season. He is one of the team's captains. His favorite events are the breaststroke, IM and fly. He is the son of Al and Pam Eschenbauch. Eschenbauch is majoring in elementary education.

Tom Fritchen returns for his second season with the Falcons in 2005. He was named the team's Most Improved swimming in 2005. He competed in the WIAA State Meet as a freshman at Racine Park High School. His favorite events are the 100, 200 and 500 freestyles. He is the son of Bill and Maureen Fritchen. Fritchen is majoring in art.

David Johnson joins the Falcons for his first collegiate season in 2005. He won five state titles in the 2005 YMCA Championships. His favorite events are the freestyle sprints and the fly in the medley relay event. He is the son of Lloyd and Jane Johnson. Johnson is majoring in physics.

Dan Kessenich is back for his fourth and final season for the Falcons in 2005. He is one of the team's captains. He enjoys swimming all events and his swimming highlights are competing in the WIAC Championships. He is a member of the Falcon cross country team. He is the son of David and Marriann Kessenich. Kessenich is majoring in geography.

Mikhael Keyser

Lake Placid High School

Mikhael Keyer is back with the Falcons for his second season. He competed with the Lake Placid High School team in Florida and the U.S. Paralympic swim team that traveled to Athens in September of 2004 for the Paralympic Games. His favorite event is the backstroke and the highlight of his swimming career is competing in the 2005 WIAC Meet. He is the son of Jane Keyser. Keyser is majoring in health & human performance.

Jacob Moe is in his second season with the Falcons in 2005. His Favorite event is the 50 freestyle and he lists his swimming career highlight as swimming a 57.26 in the 100 free. He is the son of William and Barbara Moe. Moe is majoring in conservation.

Andy Peltier joins the Falcons for his first season of collegiate swimming in 2005. At Eagan High School he competed in the Minnesota State meet in 2004 and 2005. His favorite events are the 50, 100 and 200 freestyles. He is the son of Mike and Patricia Peltier. Peltier is majoring in pre-optometry.

White Bear Lake High School

Ryan Smaagard is in his fourth season with the Falcons and brings the team experience and depth. He had the third all-time fastest time in the 100 fly (54.61) in 2004. He has the school's eighth fastest time in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.43) and the 10th fastest time in the 200 breaststroke (2:23.72). His favorite events are the sprints. He is the son of Lanny and Peggy Smaagard. Smagaard is majoring in psychology.

Anthony Yarusso is in his second season with the Falcons in 2005. His favorite events are the 100 and 200 breaststroke events. He is the son of Dan and Wendy. Yarusso is majoring in broad field social science.
