Track
Mykola Kramper (So., Sun Prairie, Wis.) had an outstanding showing at the Twilight track & field meet held at Macalester on Wednesday. Kramper set a school record in the pole vault with a leap of 14-10, which was also good enough for fourth place in the event. The previous Falcon record was 14-6 set by Dale Zuzek in 1992.

Gary Rieth (Fr., Oconto Falls, Wis.) ran his second fastest time in the 200 at the Border Olympics held Saturday at the Ramer Track & Field complex. He finished in 22.86, just .04 off his previous best time in 2006. He also ran a 52.2 in the 400 and an 11.67 in the 100. It was the first time this year that Rieth ran the 400.

Kevin McDonough (Sr., Prescott, Wis.) had a good showing at the Blugold Open held at UW-Eau Claire on Friday. McDonough broke the two-minute mark in the 800 meters. He finished seventh in the event with a time of 1:59.99.

Alex Wahlberg (Fr., Oregon, Wis.) did very well at the Blugold Open held at UW-Eau Claire on Friday. Wahlberg finished third in the long jump with a leap of 21-0 3/4.

Clint Christy (Jr., Tomah, Wis.) performed well in the decathlon at the Falcon Invitational held last weekend at the Ramer Field Sports Complex. He placed first against eight other participants, scoring 6,114 points. He ran the 100 in 11.44, the 400 in 2.41, the 110 high hurdles in 17.38 and the 1,500 in 4:43.61. Christy threw the shot 37-10 3/4, the discus 106-10 and the javelin 140-5. He jumped 20-9 1/4 in the long jump, 5-11 1/2 in the high jump and 11-11 1/4 in the pole vault. He was the top finisher in seven events and was second in two. His point total was a NCAA Div. III provisional qualifying mark.

Rick Stewart (Jr., Oregon, Wis.) had a good meet this weekend at the St. Olaf Open.   He set personal records in two events. In the 200 he finished in 23.74 and placed 16 th overall.   He also jumped 42-1 1/4 in the triple jump and he placed fifth.

Dustin Jolicoeur (So., Baldwin, Wis. Baldwin-Woodville HS) had a good meet for the Falcon men's track & field team on Saturday at the Blue Devil Open. He finished in 10th place in the weight throw. He set a personal best with a throw of 44-0 3/4.

Al Moore (Fr., North Branch, Minn.) won the heptathlon at the Coca Cola Classic held Saturday at the Knowles Building. He scored 4,278 points. He had a time of 7.01 in the 55-meters, 8.65 in the 55-meter hurdles and 3:03.44 in the 1,000-meter run. He jumped 20-10 in the long jump, 6-3 1/2 in the high jump and 10-11 3/4 in the pole vault. He also threw the shot 28-6 1/4. . "This was Al's first multi event competition," Coach Martha Brennan said.

Mike Meissner (Fr., Cottage Grove, Minn. Park HS) had his best time of the season in the 200-meter dash at the MSU-Mankato Open held Saturday. Messiner finished 13 th in the race with a time of 23.36.

Mycola Kramper (So., McFarland, Wis.) performed well in two events at the Stout Open held Saturday in Menomonie. He placed fourth in the pole vault with a leap of 14-3 1/4 and he finished eighth in the 55 hurdles in a time of 9.07.

Andrew Reckard (So., Menomonie, Wis.) had a solid early season time in he 600-meer dash at the UWRF All-Comers meet held Saturday at the Knowles Building. He placed fourth overall in a time of 1:28.81.
