Hans Hoeg

Hans Hoeg returns for his junior season after leading the Falcons in minutes, scoring and rebounding in his sophomore season. A mainstay for the Falcons the past two seasons, Hoeg will be counted on for his abilities on both ends of the court.
2004-05: Hoeg played in all 25 and started 20 as a sophomore and led the team averaging 30 minutes per game. He led the team in scoring and rebounding averaging 12.4 points and 4.4 rebounds per contests. Hoeg also dished out 1.8 assists per game. Hoeg led the NCAA Div. III in free throw percentage knocking down 113-121 (.933). Hoeg had a career-high 28 points against Lakeland on Nov. 19. He also finished with two double-doubles, picking up 21 points and 13 rebounds in a win against Superior and scoring 10 points and grabbing 11 rebounds against Calvin. Hoeg was twice named the team's Player of the Week.
2003-04: Hoeg was a key contributor to the WIAC Championship winning team as a freshman. Hoeg played in 25 games and started four. He averaged 22 minutes and 5.3 points while grabbing three rebounds per game.
High School/Personal: Hoeg had an outstanding high school career at Litchfield winning two Class 2A championships and being named to the All-State tournament team both years. He was chosen to the All-Area team twice and was named all-conference three times. He averaged 14 points, four rebounds and three assists for the Dragons. Hoeg is majoring in business. He is the son of Tom and Beth and has one sister.

Erik Kossoris returns for his junior season with the Falcons. An important contributor for the Falcons the past two seasons, Kossoris will use his shooting skills and his ability to get to the basket to be a main player in the Falcon backcourt in 2005-06.
2004-05: Kossoris started 12 games and played in all 25 contests as a sophomore. He averaged 9.1 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game while averaging 22 minutes per contest. He finished second on the team shooting .829 from the free throw line. On Feb. 12 Kossoris scored the game-winning basket on a lay-up with under a second remaining to help defeat Platteville. Kossoris scored a career-high 26 points against Whitewater on Jan. 8. Kossoris was twice named the team's Player of the Week.
2003-04: Kossoris was a main contributor defensively for the Falcons in their conference title run. He played in 21 games and averaged almost 10 minutes per game.
2002-03: Kossoris red-shirted his first year as a Falcon.
High School/Personal: Kossoris played at Waukesha South High School and earned three letters. He averaged 15 points, four rebounds and two assists a game as a senior, and was named to the second all-conference squad. Kossoris is majoring in elementary education and is the son of Carole and Tom, who are both in education. He has one sister.

Mark James returns to the Falcons for his senior year after sitting out the 2004-05 season. A contributor during the 2003-04 WIAC Championship season, the athletic forward, will be counted on for his solid play and leadership skills.
2003-04: James played 13 games and averaged 2.4 points and 1.6 rebounds a game. He scored a career-high nine points against La Crosse on Dec. 10. He transferred to UWRF after playing two seasons at Scottsdale Junior College for former UWRF assistant coach Paul Eberhardt.
High School/Personal: James attended Horizon High School where he was a two-year letter winner. He averaged 10 points, five rebounds, two assists and two blocks a game. James was named to the all-conference team and received honorable mention to the all-defensive squad. He is the son of Deborah and Bernell and has one brother and one sister. He is majoring in psychology.

Alex Maas is back for his second season with the Falcons. A solid defensive player, Maas will look to increase his offensive contributions after playing limited minutes in his junior season. During the 2003-04 season, Maas played at Mesabi Community College where he started and helped Mesabi win the Minnesota State Junior College Championship. Prior to playing at Mesabi, Maas started his collegiate career at Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minn.  
2004-05: Maas played in 20 games and started once in his first season has a Falcon.   Maas averaged eight minutes per contest in his limited role with the Falcons.
High School/Personal: Maas was a four-year letter winner and starter at Northwood High School.   He averaged 18 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three steals a game. The Evergreens finished 21-4 in his senior season.   He is the son of Theresea and Rick Maas and has one brother and one sister.   Maas is majoring in math and health & human performance.

Nick Hall returns for his junior season with the Falcons. Hall played valuable minutes last year at the lead guard position and brings toughness and solid leadership to the Falcon backcourt.
2004-05: As a second year player for the Falcons Hall started 11 and played in all 25 games. Hall led the team in assist-turnover ratio handing out 39 assists and while turning the ball over only 19 times. He had a career-high seven points against Lakeland on Nov. 19.
2003-04: Hall had limited action playing in nine games as a freshman.
2002-03: Hall red-shirted his first year with the Falcons.
High School/Personal: Hall had a great career at Glenwood City High School helping the Hilltoppers to the 2001 Wisconsin State Championship and a 26-1 record his junior season. As a senior he averaged 16 points, seven boards and four assists. Hall was part of two conference championship teams and was named to the all-conference team after his senior season. Hall is majoring in math education. He is the son of Neil and Terry and has one sister and one brother, Scott, who is a manager for the Falcons. He is an active member of the UWRF Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Scott Kelly is back for his sophomore season after being a major contributor for the Falcons in his freshman season. A very versatile player, Kelly will be counted on to continue his fine play both inside and on the perimeter for the Falcons.
2004-05: Kelly played in 23 games as a freshman and started the last 10. He averaged four points and two rebounds and 19 minutes per game. On Feb. 19 against Eau Claire Kelly scored a career high 16 points, knocking down 4-7 from beyond the arc. Kelly finished the season shooting .412 from three-point range.
High School/Personal: At Hastings High School Kelly averaged 15 points and six rebounds per game as a senior. He was a three-year letter winner and two-year starter for the Raiders. Kelly was twice named to the all-conference team. He was named to the A Honor Roll all four years of high school. He is the son of Julie and Mike and has one sister. He is majoring in business administration.

2004-05: Pearson played some big minutes in wins against La Crosse and Platteville as a freshman. Pearson scored a career-high five points at Oshkosh on Dec. 11 and again at Platteville on Feb. 22.
High School/Personal: Pearson attended Memorial High School in Eau Claire and was academic All-Big Rivers and earned honorable mention to the all-conference squad. He is majoring in chemistry and biology. He is the son of Leslie and Thomas. Pearson has two brothers and four sisters.

Ryan Zylstra is ready to begin his second season at the center position for the Falcons. After seeing limited minutes as a freshman in 2004-05, Zylstra will look to use his size and touch around the basket to be a force inside the paint.
2004-05: Zylstra played in 14 games and started the last four while averaging almost 10 minutes a game. Zylstra scored a career-high eight points on two occasions - in a win over La Crosse on Feb. 9 and again at Stevens Point a week later.
2003-04: Zylstra was a red-shirt for the Falcons.
High School/Personal: At Annandale High School he earned two letters and was a two-year starter. He averaged 17 points, 10 rebounds and one assist for the Cardinals. Zylstra was named to the all-conference team and was named the team's Most Valuable Player. He helped lead the Cardinals to the sectional finals his junior and senior season. He is the son of Darlene and Dave and has one brother and three sisters. He is majoring in business.

2004-05: Thompson played in all 25 games as a freshman and started 11. Thompson led the Falcons in assists, while also averaging 2.1 points and 19 minutes per game. Thompson dished out a career high five assists against Platteville on Feb. 22.
High School/Personal: At Viroqua High School Thompson was a three time MVP. As a senior he was named Player of the Year in the Coulee Conference. He reached the elite 1,000-point mark, averaging 18 points and over five assists, while leading VHS to a 19-4 record his senior season. Thompson was a member of the Viroqua National Honor Society. He is the son of Marla and Kevin. He has one sister. Thompson is majoring in math education.

Cory Rondeau returns to the Falcons for his sophomore season. A player with outstanding jumping ability, Rondeau will look to contribute as a rebounder and a screener at the forward position for the Falcons.
2004-05: As a freshman Rondeau played in five games. He earned his first letter.
2003-04: Rondeau red-shirted his first year with the Falcons.
High School/Personal: Rondeau averaged 10 points, eight rebounds, two assists and three blocks a game at Grand Rapids High School. He helped lead Grand Rapids to two conference titles and a third place finish in the Minnesota State tournament in 2002. He also played in the Area All-Star game. He is the son of Kelly and Timothy. He has one brother and one sister. Rondeau is majoring in conservation.

Joey Cowley returns to the Falcons for his sophomore season after missing most of his freshman season due to injury. A fine outside shooter, Cowley will look to contribute to the Falcon backcourt this season.
2004-05: Cowley played in four games for the Falcons as a freshman before suffering a stress fracture in his foot that kept him out of the line-up for the remainder of the season.
High School/Personal: Cowley enjoyed a wonderful career at Northwestern High School. He was named to the all-conference team twice and earned All-State honorable mention honors his senior season. He averaged 19 points, five rebounds and five assists a game in his senior season. Cowley was a WIAA Scholar-Athlete and played on the Division 3 North All-Star team. His team won the conference championship and advanced to the section finals his senior season. He was named to the Superior Daily-Telegram All-Area team. Cowley was a three-year starter and letter winner. He is the son of Judy and Dan. His father was his coach at Northwestern. Both of his parents are teachers. He is majoring in health & human performance.

High School/Personal: At River Falls High School he averaged 14 points, six rebounds and three assists a game in 2004. The Wildcats won the regional title and reached the section finals. He earned three letters and started for two seasons. He was named to the All-Big River Conference team and played in the Western Wisconsin All-Star Classic. He is the son of Ann and Mike and he has one sister. He is majoring in horticulture.
