Falcon basketball player Hans Hoeg (Jr., Litchfield, Minn.) has been named to the 2006 All-WIAC team. Hoeg, a 6-3 guard, led the Falcons in scoring averaging 17.3 points a game. He was second in the WIAC in scoring. He also led the team in rebounding averaging 4.5 per outing. He played and started all 25 games and shot 139-309 (.450) from the field, including 58-138 (.420) from three-point range. He was 96-116 (.828) from the line. He led the Falcons in field goals, three pointers and free throws. Hoeg also had 39 assists, second on the team, three blocks and a team high 32 steals. He averaged a team leading 35.9 minutes per game. He led the Falcons in scoring in 15 games and scored in double digits in 22 contests. He scored a career high 31 points in a 75-60 win at Superior on Jan. 25. He twice had nine rebounds in a game - on Feb. 15 against La Crosse and on Jan. 25 at Superior. He scored at least one three-point field goal in 21 of the team's 25 games. Hoeg was named the team's Player of the Week four times during the season and was the WIAC Player of the Week on Jan. 30. "Hans is very deserving of making the All-WIAC team," said Falcon Coach Rick Bowen. "It is a tribute to Hans. He led us in almost all categories this season. He certainly is one of the top 10 players the the best conference in the nation." In his career Hoeg is averaging 11.6 points and four rebounds per game. He has 79 assists and 67 steals.
