Kevin Bullis
Defensive Coordinator


Kevin Bullis is entering his 10th year with the Falcons as the club's defensive coordinator. He has helped the Falcons become one of the top defensive teams in the WIAC. His main responsibility is with the defensive linemen.

Bullis came back to UW-River Falls after a two-year stint at Gustavus Adolphus, Minn., College where he was the defensive coordinator in 1993-94.

Before that, Bullis was a graduate assistant with the Falcons from 1990-92 when he coached the linebackers.

He played intercollegiate ball at UM-Morris in the mid 1980s. While he played under UW-RF graduate Stan Zweifel, he was a four-year contributor and earned All-Conference honors in 1987. Following graduation, Bullis stayed at Morris and coached the linebackers in 1988 and 1989.
Bullis, who is also the UW-RF equipment manager and teaches in the health & human performance department, earned his undergraduate degree from Morris in 1988 in social science and history and then earned a master's degree at UWRF in history in 1993.

He and wife Kathy, also a UW-RF alum who played volleyball for the Falcons, have two sons, Jack, 10, and Joe, 8, and one daughter, Emme, 2.

Jamie Herrick
Defensive Linemen


Jamie Herrick starts his second year with the Falcons as an assistant coach. He will coach the defensive linemen.

In the 2003-04 school year he was an assistant track & field coach at St. Mary’s, Minn., University. He coached the throwers. While at SMU he was an assistant director of residence life and lecturer in weight training and sports science.

He was an assistant football coach at UW-RF from1996-99, in 2000-2001 and again in 2003. He coached defensive linemen during those seasons. In 1999 he was a graduate assistant coach at South Dakota State University and helped that team to an 8-3 overall record. He coached linebackers and special teams.

Herrick will teach in the UW-RF health & human performance department and also be the athletic department's strength and conditioning coach. He was an assistant strength and conditioning coach at UW-RF from 1996-99 and again in 2000-01.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1991-94 and with the Wisconsin Army National Guard from 1995-98.
Herrick earned his undergraduate degree in history, with a coaching minor, from UW-RF in 1999. He earned a MS degree from UW-La Crosse in human performance in 2001.

He is married to Nikki Fennern, also a graduate of UW-RF and the current softball coach at St. Mary’s. Fennern played softball for the Falcons from 1994-97 and has been the head coach at SMU since 2001. They have two daughters, Mia, 3, and Chelsea, who was born June 30, 2005. They reside in Lewiston, Minn.
