Ryan Abbott

2004: Proved to be a valuable backup at offensive guard and started in team’s comeback win at UW-Platteville. Abbott saw playing time in seven of River Falls’ 10 games and can play center or guard. He was named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll.
2003: Stepped into game action in three contests – vs. Chadron, Eau Claire and La Crosse. Earned a second letter playing center and guard.
2002: Abbott played center for the Falcons and earned his first letter.
Personal: At DeSoto High School he was named to the all-conference team as an offensive and defensive tackle as a senior. Also named to the All-Region team as an offensive tackle. He was a team captain as a senior. He is the son of Curtis. His high school coach was Milt Hendrickson. He is majoring in culinary management.


Andy Acosta
LB, 5-6, 179, Junior
Waconia, Minn.
Waconia High School

2004: Acosta returned to the Falcon football team after taking the 2003 season off. The sophomore played a huge role on special teams as a on-side kick specialist. He was successful on one on-side kick during the season vs. La Crosse. He was named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll.
2003: Did not play.
2002: Earned his first letter with the Falcons with his play on special teams.
Personal: Acosta played at Waconia High School before attending UWRF. He was a two-year starter on defense and was named to the all-conference team. He was voted his team’s Defensive MVP. An all-around athlete, he was the captain of the basketball and baseball teams. He is the son of Mary and Mike. His high school coach was Pat Foley. He is majoring in marketing communications and worked as a marketing intern for the Kansas City Chiefs Summer Training Camp in 2004. He worked the 2005 camp as an assistant in the Chiefs equipment department as a ball boy.

David Affeldt
QB, 5-11, 184, Sophomore

Onalaska High School

2004: Affeldt saw action at quarterback, running back and wide receiver. The mulit-purpose effort earned him the team’s Co-Freshman Player of the Year award. He spent most of the season splitting time under center with sophomore Andy Kolstad. Affeldt started five games including three out of the last four. He completed 3-6 passes for 52 yards and one touchdown. The freshman’s first passing TD of the season came at UW-Platteville, a team that was undefeated at the time. Affeldt led all quarterbacks in rushing with 349 yards on 84 carries and four touchdowns. He also led RF in passing efficiency with a rating of 177.8. Affeldt excelled on the ground in back to back weeks against Stout and Oshkosh when he ran for a combined 197 yards and two touchdowns on 32 carries. During those two games he had his longest runs of the season, 28 and 52 yards. For the year Affledt averaged 4.2 yards per carry. He was named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll.
2003: Red shirt season.
Personal: At Onalaska High School he was named to the second all-conference team as a quarterback. He was a membe of the FBLA and DECA. He was named to the UW-RF Dean’s List in 2003 and 2004. He is the son of Joan and Glenn. His high school coach was Dieter Antoni. He is majoring in business.

david affeldt

Ryan Agrimson

2004: Agrimson played in nine games and started one. He led all freshmen in tackles with 31, 22 were solo. The Peterson native registered one tackle for a loss, recovered one fumble against Whitewater and blocked a kick against Bemidji. He was named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll.
2003: Red shirt season. Named team’s Special Teams Scout Team Player of the Year.
Personal: At Rushford-Peterson High School he earned 14 letters in football, track & field and wrestling. He was captain of the football team that won a State Championship. He was twice named to the all-conference football team. He helped lead the wrestling team to a sectional title and he was named to the all-conference team twice. He earned all-conference honors three times in track & field. He was also named to the academic all-conference team. He is the son of Wendy and Glenn. His high school coach was Jim Reinhardt. He is majoring in elementary education.

2004: Anderson played in seven of 10 games and recorded one catch for 29 yards. He caught the pass in the game against La Crosse.
2003: Has a successful second season when he started all nine games and finished with a career high seven catches for 61 yards and one touchdown. The touchdown covered 15 yards against Whitewater. He averaged 8.7 yards per catch.
2002: Anderson played in six games as a freshman making one catch for a 21-yard touchdown against Concordia-St. Paul.
Personal: At Green Bay East high School he was named to the all-conference team as a kicker and earned honorable mention as a cornerback. He is the son of Gloria and Lloyd. His high school coach was John Kolstad. He is majoring in conservation.

Chris anderson

Nate Anderson

2004: Anderson was named the team’s Co-Freshman Offensive Player of the Year. He was second on the team in rushing and total offense. Anderson carried the ball 178 times for 876 yards and four touchdowns. The freshman went over 100 yards rushing in five of the last seven games including carrying the ball 29 times for a career high 185 yards and one touchdown at La Crosse. Anderson wasn’t just a big bruising fullback - he had at least one run over 20 yards in four games and had a run of 14 yards or more in nine of 10 games. He averaged 4.9 yards per carry and 97.3 yards per game. He was named the team’s Offensive Player of the Week for his game against Eau Claire.
Personal: At Marinette High School he was named to both the all-conference and all-area teams at linebacker and running back. He earned honorable mention to the all-area team. He was his team’s Most Valuable Player in 2003 and was the team’s Offensive Player of the Year twice. He was also named to the first all-conference baseball team. He is the son of Steven. He is majoring in health & human performance.

Bruce Baillargeon

2004: Baillargeon played in all 10 games during his first season with the Falcons. The freshman was second amongst freshmen in tackles with 27 total, 11 were solo stops. He also was tied for second on the team with one interception – that came against Oshkosh. He was named the team’s Special Teams Player of the Week for his game at Con.-St. Paul. He was named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll.
2003: Red shirt season.
Personal: Baillargeon was named his team’s Most Valuable Player at Somerset High School. He was also named to the first all-conference team. Baillargeon was a member of the National Honor Society. He is the son of Debbie and Lee. His high school coach was Bruce Larson, a UW-RF graduate. He is majoring in health & human performance.

bruce baillargeon

2004: Bernard earned his first letter with the Falcons playing defensive tackle. He has been moved to center on the offensive line for the 2005 season.

Personal: At Stillwater High School, he earned two letters in football. He graduated with academic honors. He is the son of Anne and Dan. His high school coach was Scott Hoffman. He is majoring in business management.

Spasimire Bodurski

2004: Bodurski earned the team’s Special Teams Player of the Year in his first season with the Falcons. He handled all kick off and place kicking duties. On the year he hit 6-10 field goals including a long of 41 yards against Oshkosh. Bodurski was 3-3 between 20-29 yards, 2-4 from 30-39 yards and 1-3 from 40-49 yards. Bodurski ran off a string of four straight makes during a six game stretch. He was good on 19-20 extra points. He finished second on the team in scoring with 37 points. He was twice named the team’s Special Teams Player of the Week for his games against Oshkosh and Whitewater. He was named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll.
Pesonal: He transferred to River Falls from Southeast Missouri State, a Div. IAA institution. He was 1-1 on extra points and handled kickoff duties. At Randolph High School he was a member of the National Honor Society. He was born and raised in Bulgaria and moved to Randolph, Minn., in 2001. He played soccer in Bulgaria and competed on a U18 National soccer team. He is the son of Sashka Stanimirova. His high school coach was John Nydahl. He is majoring in accounting.

Dan Buker

Waseca High School

2004: Buker was a rock at the linebacker position, starting in all nine games. Buker set career highs in tackles (48), solo tackles (23) and assists (25). He was in the backfield often setting a career high with seven tackles for loss and one fumble recovered. Buker tied his career high in sacks with one while deflecting his first pass of his career. He was named the team’s Defensive Player of the Week twice for his games against Oshkosh and Bemidji. He was named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll.
2003: Buker’s freshman season saw a progression from valuable asset off the bench to a starting role towards the end of the season. He played nine games registering 35 total tackles, 19 solo and 16 assisted. The Falcons Freshman Defensive Player of the Year also had four tackles for a loss, one sack and one forced fumble. Buker’s play of the year was a 58-yard interception return for a touchdown in a 31-21 victory at UW-Oshkosh.
2002: Red shirt year. Named team’s Co-Defensive Scout Team Player of the Year.
Personal: Played football and attended Waseca High School where he was named to the all-area and all-conference teams in 2000 and 2001. As a wrestler he was named to the all-area team three times and competed in the state tournament twice. He finished third in the 2002 tournament at 171 pounds. He graduated with high school honors. Buker has been named to the UW-RF Dean’s List four times. He is the son of Barb and Mark. His high school coach was Joel Haydfort. He is majoring in math education.

dan buker

Jeff Cassellius

2004: Cassellius didn’t start but played in all 10 games. The speedy defensive end set personal career highs with 26 tackles and 14 solo stops. Cassellius continued to disrupt the backfield with five tackles for loss and two pass deflections.
2003: Fought off numerous issues in his sophomore season to record 12 total tackles including seven solo stops. Set career highs in tackles for a loss with six and sacks with three. Cassellius also had two quarterback hurries, one pass deflection and he blocked a kick.
2002: As a freshman he played in seven games registering three total tackles including one solo stop. His Falcon career began with a bang as Cassellius forced and returned a fumble for an 11-yard touchdown at Chadron in his first collegiate game.
Personal: Cassellius was a three-sport athlete at Glenwood City High School. He was named to the all-conference football team as a defensive end and tight end as a senior. He also earned All-Region and All-Sate honorable mention honors as a defensive end. In track & field he won the 2001 conference discus championship and placed second in the shot. He competed in the WIAA state meet in both events. He placed second in the shot at the conference meet in 2000. Also played with the basketball team that won WIAA State Championship. He was a member of the Future Business Leaders of America for four years and a member of the Student Council for two years. He is the son of Joan and John. His high school coach was Phil Ottney. He is majoring in health & human performance.

2004:: Cook was a steady performer on the Falcon offensive line. He started all nine games at right tackle. He was named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll.
2003: The versatile lineman played both guard and tackle and he was a starter at the guard position.
2002: Earned his first letter as an offensive tackle.
Personal: Cook earned first team All-Region and first team all-conference recognition. He was a team captain as a senior at Rice Lake High School. He was a member of the National Honor Society. He has earned his way on to the UW-RF’s Dean’s List. He is the son of Jodi Bunnell and Guy Cook. His high school coach was Lavern Pottinger. He is majoring in political science.

Personal: At Somerset High School Dabrowski was twice named to the all-conference team. He was named to the all-district and all-state teams in his final season. He earned the team’s Best Blocker award. He graduated with academic honors. He is the son of Deborah and Bart. His high school coach was Bruce Larson, a UW-RF graduate. 2004: DeBruin saw early playing time in his freshman season starting the second game of the year at Bemiji State. The Little Chute native played a total of five games before his season was cut short due to injury. He carried the ball out of the backfield and on special teams. DeBruin had 17 carries for 124 yards and one touchdown as a halfback. He scored on a 16-yard run against Con.-St. Paul. He returned four kicks for 20 yards with a long of 10. DeBruin’s long run of 57 yards (vs. Con.-St. Paul) was second longest of the season.
2003: Red shirt season.
Personal: DeBruin was named his conference’s Offensive Player of the Year. He was named to the all-conference team. He is the son of LeeAnn Bruyette and Joe DeBruin. His high school coach was Greg Enz. He is majoring in health & human performance.

Personal: Fedie was named to the all-conference team at Durand High School. He earned honorable mention to the All-Northwest team. He was named his team’s Defensive Player of the Year. He is the son of the Bernice (deceased) and Dennis. His high school coach was Dan Lerum. He is majoring in agriculture studies.

2004: Hampton started all of the Falcons 10 games at the buck safety position. He was River Falls’ third leading tackler with 55 total tackles, 30 solo and 25 assisted. All were career highs as well as two tackles for a loss and two forced fumbles. Hampton also tied a career high with one pass deflection. He was named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll.
2003: Hampton saw playing time as a nickel back. He recorded 30 total tackles, 16 solo and 14 assisted. He forced one fumble, deflected one pass and registered one tackle for loss. Hampton’s biggest game came in a 44-21 Falcon win over Platteville when he intercepted a pass and returned it 18 yards. He was named the team’s Player of the Week for his efforts.
Personal: Attended Richfield High School where he earned two football letters and was twice the captain of the team. He earned four track & field letters and was the team’s captain twice. He was named to the all-conference team and was a member of the school record 4x200 relay team. Hampton graduated with honors and was a member of the National Honor Society. He has been named to the UWRF Dean’s List and is a member of the psychology honor society – Psi Chi. He is majoring in psychology. He is the son of Sarah and O’Neal. His high school coach was Kyle Inforzato. Hampton worked for the Kansas City Chiefs at their summer training camp at UW-RF as an assistant equipment technician in 2003, 2004 and 2005.

Personal: At La Crosse Central High School Hanson was named to the second all-conference team and earned his team’s Hustle Award. He was named the Scout Team Player of the Year. He is the son of Debbie and Earlyn. His high school coach was Dave Cayler. He is majoring in conservation.

Personal: Hasse was twice named to the all-conference team at Norwood Young America High School. He was named the school’s Athlete of the Year and was co-captain of the football team. He was also named to the all-section football squad. He helped lead his team to a State runner-up finish. Hasse earned an academic letter and is an Eagle Scout. He is the son of Melanie and Lee. His high school coach was Clay Anderson. He is majoring in pre-chiropractic program.

2004: Jordan moved from strong safety to cornerback and started all 10 games. He was fifth on the team in tackles with 54. He had 32 solo stops and 20 assisted. All are career highs as well as his five tackles for loss, two interceptions and five pass deflections. He had interceptions against Eau Claire and Stout. He was named the team’s Defensive Player of the Week for his game against La Crosse and the team’s Special Teams Player of the Week for his efforts against Bemidji.
2003: He played eight games at strong safety recording 24 total tackles. He had 14 solo tackles, 10 assisted and two tackles for loss. Jordan was named the team’s Special Teams Player of the Week for his game against Stevens Point.
Personal: At Thorp High School Jordan was named to the All-Northwest first team as a running back in 2003. He was named the conference Player of the Year that same season. He was twice named to the all-conference team as a running back and was named to the team three times as a defensive back. He was his team’s Offensive Most Valuable Player in 2001, 2002 and 2003. He also earned all-conference honors in track in 2001. He is the son of Denise and Charles. His high school coach was Jon Goodman. He is majoring in business administration.

matt jordan

2004: Kapping started four of the team’s first five games at guard and for the remainder of the year was a backup in the offensive line. He can play either center or guard.
2003: The River Falls native was moved from defensive tackle to center. He had limited playing time but performed well when called upon.
2002: In Kapping’s freshman season he played defensive tackle. He played in four games and made two solo tackles.
Personal: At River Falls High School he was a football team captain as a senior. He earned All-State recognition with the strong Wildcat wrestling program. He is the son of Sue and Roger. His high school coach was Bill Forester. He is majoring in health & human performance.

2004: Kolpack played and started in one game on the offensive line in his first year with the Falcons. He earned his first letter. He was named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll.

Personal: At Barron High school he was the captain of both the football and hockey teams. He was named to the second all-conference team as a senior after earning honorable mention as a junior. He won the Coaches Choice award in hockey and also played baseball. He was the FFA president, the senior class vice president, a member of the Student Senate and a member of the senior band and choir organizations. He has been named to the UW-RF Dean’s List and earned a CAFES scholarship. He is the son of Lynn and Keith. His high school coach was Ken Mueller. He is majoring in biology

pete kolpack

Andy Kolstad

2004: Kolstad split playing time under center. He played in six games before his season was ended by an injury for the second straight year. Before the injury Kolstad carried the ball for a career high 68 times for 114 yards. He also set career highs with a 46-yard pass and an 18-yard run. The sophomore completed 13-26 passes for 208 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions, all team and career highs. Kolstad led all quarterbacks with 34.7 passing yards per game. Kolstad was named the team’s Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts at Pacific Lutheran. He was named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll.
2003: Kolstad played quarterback in six games before an injury ended his season. He set a career high with a pass efficiency rating of 159.92. 2004: Kroll took over all of the punting duties He punted 45 times for an average of 32.9 yards a punt, seventh in the WIAC. All punts covered a total of 1481 yards while eight landed inside the 20-yard line, both career highs. Kroll was named the team’s special team’s Player of the Week for his efforts at Pacific Lutheran averaging 34.6 yards on five punts. He was named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll.
2003: Kroll saw some time punting 11 times for 344 yards. He averaged 31.3 yards per punt and landed three inside the 20. He was named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll.
Personal: At Maple-Northwestern High School he was named to the first all-conference team as a punter and won the team’s Coaches Award. He also earned all-conference honors three times in baseball. He was the school’s commencement speaker and a senior class officer. He graduated third of 115 students academically. He has been named to the UWRF Dean’s List in every semester. He is the son of Carole and Gerald. His high school coach was Ray Kosey. He is majoring in English education.

Personal: Also a member of the Falcon track & field team – he has competed at the WIAC Meet in the 100-meter dash and as a member of the 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams. At Alma Center Lincoln High School he was named to the all-conference team as a linebacker when he led the team in tackles. He was also a team captain. An all-around athlete, Nelson earned all-conference honors for four straight years in three events in track & field and also in baseball. In his senior season in baseball he led the team in steals and batting average. He was the track team’s captain in his junior and senior seasons. He holds the school record for most points in a season. Nelson was his school’s Athlete of the Year and was named to the academic all-conference team. He was a member of the student council, DARE, a business club officer and a representative to Badger Boys State. He is the son of Judy DeJong and Don Nelson. His high school coach was Craig McIntosh. Aaron Retzlaff

2004: Retzlaff was the Falcons Defensive Player of the Year and a WIAC first team defensive selection He was the anchor of the Falcon new 3-3-5 defensive scheme. In his junior season Retzlaff registered a career high in tackles (36), solo tackles (28), and forced fumbles (1). The Shawano native also tied his career high in tackles for a loss (5) and sacks (1). He was named the team’s Defensive Player of the Week for his game at Pacific Lutheran. He was one of the team captains.
2003: As a sophomore Retzlaff played in all of River Falls’ nine games as part of a three man defensive tackle rotation. He had a total of 17 tackles, seven solo; five tackles for a loss and one sack. He was named the team’s Defensive Player of the Week for his game against La Crosse.
2002: Retzlaffs first season as a Falcon saw him play in all nine games. He registered six solo tackles, 13 total stops, four tackles for a loss and one sack. Retzlaff proved to be a valuable part of special teams filling in as the long snapper and being named the Falcons Special Teams Player of the Week twice for his efforts against Oshkosh and Stout.
Personal: Before stepping foot on the River Falls campus Retzlaff played at Shawano High School. He was his team’s captain and earned honorable mention to the all-conference team. He also played baseball and was named to the second all-conference team. He was a FFA officer in the 2000-01 school year. He is the son of Patty Gary. His high school coach was Brian Johnson. Retzlaff is majoring in agriculture studies

2004: Wolff is a talented halfback and during his sophomore year he proved to be a multi purpose offensive weapon. The Janesville, Minn., native was one of only four Falcons to start every game. Wolff led the team in receiving yards with 140 on six catches. He carried the ball 34 times for 177 yards and served as one of the lead blockers for Offensive Player of the Year John Peterlik. Wolff caught a 21-yard touchdown pass at Bemdiji, and also completed a 35-yard touchdown pass in a victory over Stout. He might see action at quarterback in 2005.
2003: Wolff came onto the scene playing in nine games and carrying the ball 39 times for 289 yards and one TD. Wolff started and had a long run of 31 yards. He led the Falcons with a 7.4 per carry average. He caught six passes for 108 yards with a long of 60 yards. He was named the team’s Freshman Offensive Player of the Year.

Personal: Wolff played at J-W-P High School he was named to the all-conference and all-area football teams in 2000, 2001 and 2002. A multi –talented athlete, he was named to the all-conference teams three times in both basketball and baseball. He was the captain of all three teams in 2002. He graduated with academic honors. He is the son of Terri and Mike. His high school coach was Mike Mendiking. He is majoring in agriculture economics.
