Retzlaff Named to d3Football.com Third All-Region West Team

Aaron Retzlaff (Sr., Shawano, Wis.) has been named to the 2005 d3Football.com All-Region West third team.

Earlier this year the talented defensive tackle was named to the All-WIAC team for the second straight season.

Retzlaff, a 6-1, 300 pounds, was a key leader for the Falcon defense. A solid run stopper in the middle of the line, he was named to the first All-WIAC team in 2004. He started all 10 games and had 21 solo and 36 total tackles in 2005. He had 3.5 tackles for loss, including one sack. He showed his agility when he dropped off the line of scrimmage and intercepted a pass and returned it four yards against Pacific Lutheran. He recovered one fumble, against Stevens Point. He also forced one fumble, against Oshkosh. He twice finished with six tackles in a game; against Pacific Lutheran (4-2) and Oshkosh (4-2). He had two quarterback hurries and broke up a pass. He was named the WIAC Defensive Player of the Week for his game against Pacific Lutheran.

The Falcons finished the year with 3-7 overall and 2-5 WIAC records.
