Martha Brennan is in her second season as mens and womens track and field coach at UW-River Falls. Brennan was pleased with the overall results from the 2004-05 season. "I was pleasantly surprised by the dedication and commitment of the athletes in our program. We finished with an All-American (Jill Crandall) and several school records. We also hosted our first ever alumni meet, high school coaches' clinic and track and cross country camps. We will continue to get better every year and I look forward to another season with our returning athletes and new recruits." Prior to coaching at Texas A&M, she coached at the University of Iowa and at Louisiana State University as a graduate assistant. At Iowa she was responsible for the women jumpers, throwers and milti-event athletes. She also coached a women's 400-meter hurdler All-American. She also was the team's strength and conditioning coordinator. At LSU she worked in the athletic department compliance and marketing departments and with the senior women's administrator. She also assisted with ticket office and event management operations. In 1997 Brennan was a member of the USA National tack & field team and competed in the Olympic Trials in 1996 as a heptathlete. She was a member of the 1994 and 1995 NCAA National Championship winning teams at LSU. She was a five-time All-American while competing at the University of South Dakota (1991-93). Her husband's name is Bob, who works at 3M in microbiology. They have three children; Grace (7) and Eve (4) and Ivy (infant). |
