Falcon Women's Track & Field Athletes of the Week

May 9, 2005 FieldJill Crandall (Jr., Roseville, Minn.) was a conference champion at the WIAC Meet held at UW-La Crosse last weekend. Crandall finished first in the heptathlon with a final score of 4,559 points. Crandall broke the WIAC record, which was 4,319 points. Crandall also had a NCAA Div. III provisional qualifying leap in the high jump. Crandall placed fourth in the event with a leap of 1.64 meters. Runner The womens 4x800 relay team of Jill Crandall (Jr., Roseville, Minn.), Sara Rudesill (Sr., River Falls, Wis.), Marlene Yaeger (Jr., Medina, Minn.) and Molly Larson (Fr., Lakeville, Minn.) finished broke the school record and finished second with a time of 9:28.15 at the WIAC Meet. The previous record was 9:27.88 set in 1987. The womens 4x400 team of Amy Piersak (Fr., Shoreview, Minn. Mounds View HS), Crandall, Brittany Smith (Fr. Preston, Minn. Fillmore Central HS), Miranda Biteler (Jr. Chanhassen, Minn. Chaska HS) achieved a season best at the WIAC Meet. The team placed seventh with a time of 4:04.1. |

May 2, 2005 RunnerJill Crandall (Jr., Roseville, Minn.) had a very successful meet at the Drake Relays on April 28th. Crandall placed 15th and had a NCAA Div. III provisional qualifying score of 4,538 in the heptathlon. |

April 25, 2005 FieldHannah Miller (Fr, Edgar, Wis.) has a very impressive meet at the Manitou Classic on Saturday. Miller achieved a personal best in the pole vault with a leap of 9-6. |

April 18, 2005 FieldJill Crandall (Jr., Roseville, Minn.) is having a successful outdoor track season. At the Lee Krough Invitational on Saturday, Crandall achieved a NCAA Div. III provisional qualifying leap in the high jump with a1.68 meter effort. Crandall also placed fifth in the 100-meter hurdles in 17.32. |

April 11, 2005 FieldBrittany Smith (Fr., Preston, Minn. Fillmore Central HS) had a very successful meet at the Falcon Invitational on Saturday. Smith had personal bests in the long jump and triple jump. She placed seventh in the long jump with a leap of 5.07 meters. In the triple jump she placed second with a leap of 11.03 meters. "It was a great start to the season for her in her jumps," said Falcon Coach Martha Brennan. |
