Falcon Women's Track & Field Athletes of the Week

Jill Crandall (Jr., Roseville, Minn.) was a conference champion at the WIAC Meet held at UW-La Crosse last weekend. Crandall finished first in the heptathlon with a final score of 4,559 points. Crandall broke the WIAC record, which was 4,319 points. Crandall also had a NCAA Div. III provisional qualifying leap in the high jump. Crandall placed fourth in the event with a leap of 1.64 meters.

The women’s 4x800 relay team of Jill Crandall (Jr., Roseville, Minn.), Sara Rudesill (Sr., River Falls, Wis.), Marlene Yaeger (Jr., Medina, Minn.) and Molly Larson (Fr., Lakeville, Minn.) finished broke the school record and finished second with a time of 9:28.15 at the WIAC Meet. The previous record was 9:27.88 set in 1987.

The women’s 4x400 team of Amy Piersak (Fr., Shoreview, Minn. Mounds View HS), Crandall, Brittany Smith (Fr. Preston, Minn. Fillmore Central HS), Miranda Biteler (Jr. Chanhassen, Minn. Chaska HS) achieved a season best at the WIAC Meet. The team placed seventh with a time of 4:04.1.

Jill Crandall (Jr., Roseville, Minn.) had a very successful meet at the Drake Relays on April 28th. Crandall placed 15th and had a NCAA Div. III provisional qualifying score of 4,538 in the heptathlon.

Hannah Miller (Fr, Edgar, Wis.) has a very impressive meet at the Manitou Classic on Saturday. Miller achieved a personal best in the pole vault with a leap of 9-6.

Jill Crandall (Jr., Roseville, Minn.) is having a successful outdoor track season. At the Lee Krough Invitational on Saturday, Crandall achieved a NCAA Div. III provisional qualifying leap in the high jump with a1.68 meter effort. Crandall also placed fifth in the 100-meter hurdles in 17.32.

Brittany Smith (Fr., Preston, Minn. Fillmore Central HS) had a very successful meet at the Falcon Invitational on Saturday. Smith had personal bests in the long jump and triple jump. She placed seventh in the long jump with a leap of 5.07 meters. In the triple jump she placed second with a leap of 11.03 meters. "It was a great start to the season for her in her jumps," said Falcon Coach Martha Brennan.

Molly Larson (Fr., Lakeville, Minn.) continues to have a strong season for the Falcons. Larson had a very impressive meet at the Blue Devil Open. In the 3,000 Larson placed fourth in 11:06.81. "Molly ran very well," said Falcon Coach Martha Brennan.

Jill Crandall (Jr., Roseville, Minn.)
had a great meet at the Coca Cola Classic. Crandall had a season best and a provisional NCAA qualifying leap of 1.65-meters in the high jump. Crandall also took third in the 600 with a time of 1:43.38.

Amy Piersak (Fr., Shoreview, Minn. Mounds View HS) has had a consistent great indoor season. At the Coca Cola Classic Piersak broke the school record in the 55 meter dash with a time of 7.46. The previous record was 7.49. Piersak also took second in the 200 in 26.99.

Jill Crandall (Jr., Roseville, Minn.)
had a great meet at the MSU Open on Saturday. Crandall took first place in the pentathlon with an overall score of 3,064 points. Crandall was only 315 points short of the UWRF record. "Jill had a very good performance and an overall good meet," said Falcon Coach Martha Brennan.

Amy Piersak (Fr., Shoreview, Minn. Mounds View HS) has had an outstanding beginning of her indoor season. Piersak placed sixth at the MSU Open in the 60 with a time of 8.12 on Saturday. "Amy is very hardworking and competitive, all of her hard work is showing results," said Falcon Coach Martha Brennan.
