Falcon Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week

Laura Murphy (Fr., Afton, Minn. Woodbury HS) had a solid effort Saturday in the WIAC Meet ran at UW-River Falls on Saturday. She finished third for the Falcons and was 43rd overall in a time of 24:56.2 over the 6,000-meter course. "She had her best race of the year," Falcon Coach Don Glover said.

Gina Schindel (Sr., Oak Creek, Wis.) had a solid race for the Falcons as the team won the Winona Invitational held Saturday. She placed fourth for the Falcons and ninth overall in a time of 20:51 over the 5,000-meter course. "Gina helped us beat a very good St. Mary's team. She has improved her time by over two minutes from the start of the season," said Falcon Coach Don Glover.

Angie Kveene (So., Willmar, MN) placed 100th overall on Friday at the NCAA Div. III Pre-National meet, and was the third Falcon finisher with a time of 25:00.5 over the 6,000-meter course. "Angie improved 56 seconds over the Griak meet and moved up to third on the team. It was her best race this year," Falcon Coach Don Glover said.

Sara Rudesill (Sr., River Falls, Wis.) had another strong race at the Griak Invitational held Saturday. She ran the 6,000-meter course in 25:30. She improved by 20 seconds the time she ran at St Olaf a week ago and she improved her last year's Griak time by 1:23. "Sara is this year's captain and is bringing her young team to weekly improvement," said Falcon Coach Don Glover.

Maria Michaud (Fr., Foley, MN)
has placed second for the Falcons for the first two
meets of the season. On Saturday at the St. Olaf Invitational, she placed 45th overall with a time of 25:38 over the 6,000-meter course. "She ran 4K's in high school, and is doing 6K's now. She's doing very well," Coach Don Glover said.

Sept. 13, 2004

Amanda Kozicky (So., Chaska, Minn.) was the top finisher for the Falcons at the UM-Duluth Invitational held Saturday. She placed 23rd overall with an excellent time of 20:50.3 over the 5,000-meter course.
