Falcon Women's Basketball Player of the Week

Feb. 21, 2005 Post Erin Effle (Sr, Rochester, Minn. John Marshall HS) gave
the Falcons two more solid games last week as the Falcons won two more
WIAC games. The Falcons got a big 75-68 win at UW-Stevens Point and came
back with a 63-47 win at home over UW-Eau Claire. The win over UWSP came
with the Pointers tied for first place in the WIAC. In that game Effle,
5-10, finished with 29 points, six rebounds and three blocked shots. In
the two games she was 13-25 from the field, including 1-3 from three-point
range and 10-14 from the line for 37 points. She had 11 rebounds, two
assists, three blocks and one steal |

Feb. 14, 2005 Forward Erin Effle (Sr, Rochester, Minn. John Marshall HS) had two great games for the Falcons and led the team to two WIAC wins over La Crosse and Platteville. In the two games she finished 15-23 (.652) from the field, including 1-1 from three-point range, and 3-7 from the line for 34 points. She had 17 rebounds, three assists, three blocks and five steals in 44 minutes of playing time. She led the Falcons with 17 points in the win over Platteville and led the team with 10 rebounds in the win over La Crosse. |

Jan. 31, 2005 Forward Erin Effle (Sr, Rochester, Minn. John Marshall HS) played two strong games for the Falcons last week as the team finished with a 1-1 record. In Saturday's win over nationally ranked UW-Oshkosh, she led the Falcons with 23 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, three blocks and three steals. In the two games she finished 15-37 from the field and 5-9 from the line for 35 points. She had 22 rebounds, five assists, four blocks and five steals in 57 minutes of action. |

Jan. 17, 2005 Post Traci Reimann (So., North Branch, Minn.) had the hot hand last week in helping the Falcons to a 1-1 record in WIAC play. She led the team in scoring in both games, including a career-high 28 point performance in a 69-58 win at Platteville. In the two games she was 17-25 (.680) from the field, including 4-5 (.800) from three-point range. She finished 6-8 (.750) from the line. She scored 44 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. She was the team's second leading rebounder in both contests with six against Superior and eight at Platteville. She had three assists in 68 minutes of playing time. |

Jan. 3, 2005 Guard Chantele Melgaard (Jr., Lakeville, Minn.) helped lead the Falcons to two more wins as the Falcons improved to 9-2 overall. UWRF beat Beloit, 61-48 and St. Scholastica, 61-55. In the two games she was 5-19 from the field, including 3-11 from three-point range, and 7-14 from the line. She scored 20 points, grabbed 17 rebounds, had six assists, six steals and one blocked shot in 70 minutes of playing time. At Beloit she led the Falcons with 13 rebounds and at St. Scholastica she led the team with 16 points. |

Dec. 20, 2004 Post Erin Effle (Sr., Rochester, Minn. John Marshall HS) scored her 1,000th career point on Saturday in a 79-49 win over Lakeland. Effle scored 15 points, shooting 6-10 from the field and 3-4 from the line in only 15 minutes of play. She also grabbed four rebounds and picked up three steals. Earlier this year she grabbed her 500th career record and currently has scored 1,011 points and has 525 rebounds. |

Dec. 13, 2004 Guard Chantele Melgaard (Jr., Lakeville, Minn.) was the team's top player in two WIAC games last week when the Falcons finished 1-1. She was the team's leading scorer with 20 points in the loss at Oshkosh. In the two games she was 10-21 from the field, including 7-12 from three-point range. She was 4-6 from the line and scored 31 points. She had five rebounds, 10 assists and four steals in 63 minutes of playing time. She led the team with seven assists against UWO. |

Dec. 6, 2004 Guard Chantele Melgaard (Jr., Lakeville, Minn.) was one of the team's top players in three wins last week. The Falcons, 5-1 overall and 1-0 in the WIAC, defeated Hamline, 72-68, Stout, 77-61 and Viterbo, 61-52. In the three games she was 14-37 from the field including 7-15 from three point range. She finished 12-19 from the line and scored 47 points. Melgaard, 5-8, had 13 rebounds, four assists and 11 steals in 99 minutes of playing time. She was one of two Falcons who scored 17 points to lead the team at Viterbo and she scored 19 points in the WIAC win at Stout. |

Nov. 29, 2004 Post Erin Effle (Sr., Rochester, Minn. John Marshall HS) helped the Falcons to a win at Northwestern College on Saturday. The Falcons won, 59-51. Effle led the Falcons in scoring with 12 points and in rebounding with 10. She finished 5-9 from the floor and 1-1 from three-point range. She was 1-3 at the line. She had two assists and three steals in 31 minutes of action. |

She was named to the All-Tourney team after helping the Falcons to a 1-1 record. In the two games she was 10-19 from the field, including 1-3 from three-point range. She had 12 rebounds to go along with her 21 points. She had two assists, one block and one steal in 64 minutes of playing time. |
