Petersen Named to First Team For Second Time
Petersen, Geehan, Krtnick, Thompson Named
to All-WIAC Volleyball Teams

Falcon volleyball players Nina Petersen (Sr., Byron, Minn.), Andrea Geehan (So., St. Paul, Minn. Como Park HS), Kat Krtnick (So., Fridley, Minn.) and Katie Thompson (So., Forest Lake, Minn.) have all been named to 2004 All-WIAC teams.

Petersen was named to the first team and Geehan, Krtnick and Thompson all earned honorable mention.

Petersen, a right side hitter, was named to the first All-WIAC team in 2003 and earned honorable mention in 2002. She led the Falcons in 2004 with 462 kills, averaging 3.4 per match. She had a .227 hitting percentage. She finished her four-year career with 1,217 kills, fifth on the Falcon all-time career kill list. She led the Falcons with 48 services aces and 134 total blocks. She had 16 solo and 118 block assists. The 118 block assists in sixth all time. She finished with 87 set assists and 354 digs.

Geehan, a middle hitter, finished second on the team with 382 kills. She led the Falcons with a .254 hitting percentage. She had 43 aces and 120 blocks, both second on the team. She led UWRF with 25 solo blocks and had 95 block assists. She had 16 assists and 116 digs.

Krtnick, a setter, led the Falcons with 1575 assists, fourth most in a single season. She had 458 digs and 37 aces, both third on the team. She had nine solo and 38 total blocks.

Thompson, an outside hitter, had 307 kills and averaged 3.34 per game. She finished with a .172 hitting percentage. She had 36 aces, fourth on the team, 244 digs and 13 assists. She finished with five solo and 22 total blocks.

UWRF finished the 2004 season with 5-3 WIAC and 24-11 overall records.
