Falcon volleyball player Nina Petersen (Sr., Byron, Minn.) has been named to 2004 AVCA All-Midwest Region team. Earlier this year Petersen was named to the first All-WIAC team and was named the WIAC's Co-Scholar-Athlete in the sport. Petersen, a right side hitter, was named to the first All-WIAC team in 2003 and earned honorable mention in 2002. She led the Falcons in 2004 with 462 kills, averaging 3.4 per match. She had a .227 hitting percentage. She finished her four-year career with 1,217 kills, fifth on the Falcon all-time career kill list. She led the Falcons with 48 services aces and 134 total blocks. She had 16 solo and 118 block assists. The 118 block assists in sixth all time. She finished with 87 set assists and 354 digs. Petersen earned honorable mention to the 2003 AVCA All-Midwest Region team. UWRF finished the 2004 season with 5-3 WIAC and 24-11 overall records.
